I hoping that Ed is blowing the smoke the other way and intends to show up early, work late and every day. That is how is always was and the only way to succeed. It is nature. I can't imagine him not giving it everything he has. If not, you are right and this is waste of time. He did say, hold him to our expectations and that is what we must do. He is paid staff now and must frigging deliver.

Nobody does nothing anything for free but Ed Reed not worried about no pay title with this job. Reed is still a multi millionaire and successful business man. Again this isn’t about money for him and I dont Know why people think he needed this job for financial reasons. He wanted to help period

Fixed. That's exactly what transpired. It's his attempt to buy favor with the fans & improve the team, while not being challenged. Diaz understands he has to win now or he's gone. Either way we should be good.
 
Underwhelming job description. Definitely a part time job, but...

I’ll take Ed Reed on campus for an hour a week over Mandy being here 24/7 365 days.

Hopefully, he’ll want to be around for the next regime, in a more significant role.

If you look up Ed Reeds net worth, it says it’s only 12 million dollars. That’s not enough to for him to live the rest of his life. He not only has to provide for his wife and kids but he also has provide for other relatives. We wouldn’t have gone back to work if he felt like he had enough money

That's not how PR works. The way that it works is that when those unfortunate enough to have jobs selling UM football season tickets call up disgruntled fans, they can now throw Ed Reed's name into the sales pitch.

It's not a "blessing" when this move is nothing more than the Manny/Blake regime trying another PR stunt to sell some season tickets. Bryant McKinnie showed up to practices last year and the offensive linemen were goofing off and acting the fool. They don't care. So they hire Ed Reed to "be around" for some undefined period of time, with no specific responsibility, and certainly no authority, so Manny/Blake can appease the fans that wanted Zo to come in and knock heads. It's a transparent PR stunt to anybody not wearing orange and green colored sunglasses.

This is ridiculous, so reed mentoring kids, helping them with film, evaluating guys and amongst other things is a pr stunt? People just say anything apparently. Again listen to his interview, does reed sound like a guy who would do a pr stunt? Reed not built like that...

I think Ed Reed truly and deeply wants UM to win football games. I don't think the parameters of this position will give him any influence whatsoever on that happening.

What makes you think any of these kids are going to listen to Ed Reed? They don't even listen to the HC, but they are going to listen to Ed Reed with no authority to do anything? Are you seriously this naïve?
