Recruiting writers and narratives

MSU fans were on Twitter saying “tuck coming” all of June when they were getting kids on campus( leaving with out commitments). Just like Florida MSU has bragged about there collective but when it’s time to pony up they are nowhere to be found. Does NIL have something to do with this momentum of course but let’s not act like Mario hasn’t landed elite OL recruits in the past.

Miami isnt winning recruiting battles because of NIL. Miami is able to be competitive with most other major programs in NIL, but that just makes it come down to actual coaching/recruiting. Manny, Richt, Golden, etc would still lose almost all of these recruitments, even with the same NIL backing

Anybody know whether we’re offering tons more NIL than the other big schools?
We are not. It would be illegal for the University of Miami to offer any kid money. That’s just the narrative, and the way that these fan bases and the MSM are attacking us.

Ruiz offers NIL to his potential clients based off of perceived market value of said player, and not just a “I’m gonna throw the kitchen sink at every high rated recruit.”

He is signing players from around the nation and from different sports to NIL deals, not just Miami players.

for years, I wondered why certain players/recruits went to other schools, well, it turns out it wasn't a level playing field

Now, it is.

And it reminds me of that quote from Charlie Francis, legendary track coach who oversaw Ben Johnson's training, he said famously. "It's a level playing... just not the one you think it is."

Okay, so is Ruiz offering more money than other team’s players are getting from businesses?

Again, not doubting our recruiters’ prowess. I just think it’s a relevant data point — if it’s knowable at this point.

I love this idea that Bama is going to have to STOP doing things the RIGHT way and START paying recruits. Here’s a secret…(you guys have been paying recruits!) You can’t increase a maxed out budget!

I’m good at smelling trolls, and you’re definitely giving off major enemy vibes. Are you a gayta, Nole or Baga fan? No need to front or lie.

Anyone that is a Canes fan on this board knows that the other teams don’t have “businesses” giving players NIL deals. They have “collectives”, which as explained by Ruiz, is not really NIL, is pay-for-play, since “collectives” collect money from fanbases through different avenues to then pay the players.

If you were a real Canes fan, you’d know this by now, since it’s been discussed ad nauseam on this board for the past few months.

These writers are just that ”writers“. They set narratives while building their customers up. On top of that mix in they aren’t used to losing kids so they play the “Miami came in late “ card.

Fact is it’s always been easy being a prognosticator for the UGA’s, Bama‘s and OSU’s of the world. If one of those schools were involved and wanted said recruit it was easy money. Even if there was some uncertainty. Just put everything on red, Scarlett or crimson and let it ride.

Well there’s a new plumber in town and his name is Mario. He’s shaking up the ole boys network and they needed a quick excuse to cover for their sudden losing streaks to a non elitist program. We knew all along Miami was a legit threat for these recruits we’re landing, but let them keep filling their subscribers heads full of nonsense. Let them figure it out for themselves…..the hard way.

Things are changing.

thought on this for a few days and over the past decade or so some of these website "reporters" have been eating based on common sense, not really ear to the ground sources ... if bama, uga, or osu was in the top five choose them and you'd be correct 90% of the time ... without any corroboration ... as a result they gained subscribers, followers, and all the perks that come with it ... let that sink in ... they literally had a free ride ... they gotta take these L's now tho and actually earn some business

I'm going to answer you as though you were a fan not the troll that you probably are.

No one know for sure because these are business negotiations made confidentially between each NIL organization and each recruit. And with Miami, specifically, there is no collective driving the NIL deals, there may be multiple NIL contracts for any given recruit or player. There's no database that lists out all offers by NIL organizations for each recruit by name.

But all public statements point to the fact that the NIL offers made to our recruits and players are at most at parity with the compensatoin offered by the competition. Guys on this board who are close to it have estimated that Miami NIL sources woiuld put us in the 5-15 range of programs, not top 5 range of programs. We're winning these recruiting battles because the kids want to play for and be coached by Mario and his staff. And all things being equal, Miami is a destination program, unlike most of the SEC schools, especially for diversity, urban or international recruits.

A major advantage Miami has in this new order is that Miami was never a player in the bag game, meaning the money being invested in Miami recruits/players in NIL deals are all coming from legitimate businesses with legitimate marketing purposes for investing in an NIL. The reason you're hearing stories about Florida, Georgia or A&M struggling to meet their promises is they are failing in their efforts to dismantle their old illegal system and build a new legal one. They can and most likely do fall back to dropbing bags, but what kid/family wants to run that risk if a legit option is on the table?

I’ve been a fan since before even the George Mira days in the 60s. Haven’t missed a game in a decade. I’m in paradise these days re: Mario and Ruiz,

No troll. So much for asking for basic info.

If that's the case, I apologize for being cynical, Apple. You asked a legitimate question. It's just that fans, coaches and boosters from other schools -- even members of the media who are hostile to Miami -- are making the claim we're outbidding them using Ruiz' money. And that's just not the case according to everything the guys on this site know.

No problem. We’re good…
