Recruiting Update

Defensive Tackle recruiting remains pathetic.

Or maybe they're not worried about DT....like the thousands of times before that I've told you. The staff has praised the d-line every chance they've gotten shouldn't that tell you something or do you think you're smarter than Coach Kool ?? and Pete even said they're only looking at BIG names there.

I think they stick with only ford at Dt unless a big time recruit wants in.

I expected more DT recruits too initially. However, the players we do already have were not coached or utilized correctly during Goldens tenure so who really knows how good these guys are or how good they can be.The scheme and the strength and conditioning program is way better than under the previous regime too. Coach Kool by all accounts in an excellent coach and may do wonders with our current DT's.The staff seems to have a solid plan so far.

So judging by the comments of the some of our recruiting experts around here, the only trait to look for in a WR is if he runs a 4.3.

**** it, who cares if he can catch, run good routes, knows how to play the position, shows toughness....Nope just has to be fast. The only way he can be considered fast is if he can run a 4.3 in shorts.

Mark Richt said we need to improve our speed at the position, so **** it, 4.3s only.... Nothing else matters!!

Whe u been recruiting not alot of speed abd dudes running slow as *** for a miami team and u in sfla we should complain more about it. Thanks al

Dont our best recievers have speed....its rare a slow guy is our best wideout. Everyone soon mentions jerry rice always like he was going against 4.4 dbs all the time. We goup against fsu and there secondary can run since jimbo bee there. We should always be faster at wr and dbs in the country yearly. If we arentwe not recruiting sfla the rightway. Well thats my opinion

As far as speed goes, WR is the only position on the field where the 40 yard dash has a negative correlation between production on the field and results.

That tells you that route running and other attributes are more important.

We love seeing the electric 40 times, but the WR position is different. The guys who are putting up the monster numbers tend to be ordinary in speed. A field stretcher is nice, but the data states it is far down the list of attributes for being successful.

agree 100%

I've been telling people that we're gonna get Campbell outta AHS if Richt turns things turn around for a long time now and you can already see the momentum we're gaining even before our first game. Other P5 programs are gonna go all out for the kid, but with the combination of vast improvement of our program expected by everyone and the relationship he's already established with Rumph, we should be in the driver's seat with him soon enough.

Willis,Norton,Moten,Jenkins,Mcintosh,Fines and Martin.None are SRs and should be back in 2017 unless 1 separates and blows up this season and leaves early. Also Bethel and Joseph Jackson are around 260 and could easily outgrow DE.We really don't need more bodies there but talent upgrade so unless another stud DT wants to join Ford in this class we could use that ship at DB instead.

Can you translate into English?

Exactly. Allen Hurns runs a 4.5-4.6 and he was a top WR at Miami and in the NFL now.

Jackson is only around 240 and fines isnt good and doesnt fit the scheme.

Evidence Njoku, Sam Bruce, Ahmmon Richards, & Dionte Mullins all run in the low 4.5's.

I would like us to add Manny Greene &/or I like Mike Harley, but he has to do it in pads first. He's like 155 pounds? I think another WR prospect will emerge this cycle and end up in this class.

This. They just brought in three elite or very good guys from a speed standpoint. At the very least three guys with elite agility and overall athleticism.

As far as this season, Dallas is a good athlete with good speed and Dingle timed slow but plays fast on film. He's **** good.

The issue is the Scott take. He's just not impressive on film but the staff obviously sees something they like enough to give him a spot.

But taken individually, Dingle and Dallas are worthy takes. It's just one outlier.

Great to hear. Tyson Campbell is a freak with huge upside. I just cannot get over how mindblowingly loaded that AHS def backfield is.

Rumph was a better recruiter at Heritage than he is here.

This is true at the moment my man, I will agree but that could be changing soon. I think that Rumph more or less inherited the earlier AH kids like Sony, Gibson, and even Burns. With the '17 & especially '18 kids, I think he had much more of a hand in getting them at AH. I know for a FACT Tyson could've ended up anywhere from STA to Norland or Carol City(he sure as **** wasn't going to Everglades) if Rumph didn't coach at AH. I believe our luck will start to change with Heritage recruitment wise, but if it doesn't and Rumph ain't a helluva position coach, then yall can get the figurative gallows ready...

I'm with you on all that, Cutty.
