Recruiting Top 3’s

I was at the Bradford game a few weeks ago.

Bradford always has a few guys who go under recruited, so it was an opportunity to see what they had on their roster.
So honest question, are you basing your comment that he is having a “rough season” on that game alone?

Your Stubbs and Nix assessments are my biggest concern. These are two guys who looked amazing in their Junior HUDL highlights. What about their senior performances triggered your reaction that they’re overrated?

For Nix, he just didn’t make any huge plays when I saw him. His knock back power isn’t really what I would expect from a guy who is being recruited by Michigan and other big time programs. He looks like a ham and egger to me. You put him in and he’ll execute the assignment, but that’s it.

Stubbs is a bit too undisciplined for me. He’s young and you can definitely teach a guy to be more patient in their reads, but he wasn’t like that last year. So, this recent development is an eyebrow raiser.

It's a shame they don't give Nickle is due. I understand why Andrea Livins doesn't give him more praise. From all the clips of him throwing and moving around against good competition, you would think he would be more in the discussion of top QBs.

There just isn't any thought put into games and players anymore. Very lazy on the "Experts" part but I guess that comes with the Harry Potter generation.

It's like people being surprised about the Va Tech score even though they have a good team and our 2nd biggest rival on a Friday night. Or having to travel 7 hours in a plane and be three hours behind in time and being a bit sluggish to start the game.

None of it is ever considered. Easier travel week. We will kick the sh** out of Louisville by the way.
there was a big discussion about Nickel on the 247 board this week. Many have been outspoken about Ivins' eval of Nickel. According to Lake & Gaby, the evaluation for Qb is always hard and they base it on projection to next level. Didn't make the crowd there happy.

Where do people think Nickel should be ranked?

That’s a bull**** copout and they ******* know it.

He was the 10th best guy at the Elite 11 that brings in 24 guys to compete. On the ******* field to set a hierarchy of skill and potential.

Yet he’s the 23rd best QB in country? When he’s beat half of those **** gobblers head-to head at the Elite 11? And when he’s continued to play at a high level against premier competition?

But no, it’s not personal.

Our current recruiting class is nothing special. We better close strong. Three OL that are projects. No big time DT that are desperately needed. No big time CB that are desperately needed. LB is meh. WR is meh. That's the truth. Again, we need to close strong. Will have to rely on flips, which isn't ideal

Ivins said they do the rankings based off projections to the nfl not college which is dumb. He basically said there is no physical tools that really stand out about nickel. Said he has good mechanics and is accurate but his arm is only ok and his athleticism is towards the back of the pack among the high ranked qbs. Said he still think he will be a good college qb

Composite for both On3 and 247 has him as a top 250 player. I don’t think that is too far off. Think his ranking is a little suppressed right now but think it’s close to right. If he ended up top 200 or 150, I would still think it’s relatively right.
Yeah I say he’s probably closer to QB 10 than he is to QB 20 but still that’s like what? 200th nationally?

I think with Nix I think as it comes to context clues there is a reason we are still prioritizing Wiley and Alford at LB
