So Martinez and Fletcher at 3 and 4?Big loss, in my opinion. He and Lyle should have been RB1 and RB2 this season.

Obviously you think you're a smarty. Yah I do know a little bit about the positions as I performed both exclusively in HS for 2 years. You must have good hands, be able to catch the ball, run north n south, and don't let the ball bounce. Based on my observations AJAY does catch the ball and he is quick n fast with elusive moves. My Dad and God Bless his soul was a HS head football coach for 21 years. I can tell you football was an integral part of our family life. AJAY fits the EXACT MOLD of a player to be used as a kick and punt returner. Our staff failed this young man along with the team. Merry Christmas to you!It takes a certain skill set to do that. Ajay does not have that. Your knowledge is showing here.
Maybe Allen could be a good return man, but his inability in pass protection when we had a franchise QB was the reason he didnt get as much PT. Not sure staff "failed" him.Obviously you think you're a smarty. Yah I do know a little bit about the positions as I performed both exclusively in HS for 2 years. I won't disagree with your assessment about his blocking skills. You don't need those skills to be a dynamic punt and kick off returner. Instead our staff rode two players as kick and punt returners that were INCREDIBLY DISSAPOINTING to say the least. Again, they failed the kid and without a doubt the team. Our special teams on kick offs and punt returns was close to an D or F grade. Elite teams recognize the importance of these two positions but not this staff. Eight millions dollars a year for what? For a guy who spews nonsense every week in and out of his mouth. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HO HO HO lolMaybe Allen could be a good return man, but his inability in pass protection when we had a franchise QB was the reason he didnt get as much PT. Yeah I didn’t get that , our kick off and punt return was the worse I seen at Miami in awhile. I don’t remember getting past the 30 on the kick off returnI won't disagree with your assessment about his blocking skills. You don't need those skills to be a dynamic punt and kick off returner. Did not stop the staff from running some of their OL out there while Cam ran around saving their asses.Maybe Allen could be a good return man, but his inability in pass protection when we had a franchise QB was the reason he didnt get as much PT. Not sure staff "failed" him.

Maybe they both end up coming back. Just because someone enters the portal doesn't necessarily mean they leave. He could be just seeing what's out there to get him more reps.Maybe if Martinez leaves, Allen returns. It"a all negotiable.
I would totally agree with you that you must catch the ball and secure it first. With that being said Ray Ray is a very timid punt returner. Please the replays and watch how many times he failed to catch the ball and proceeded to watch the ball bounce backwards 10-15 yards. The kid has very poor technique and lets the ball play him. I would NOT put him back there next year. Chris Johnson was plating against smaller and slower athletes in HS. He showed ZERO moves and elusiveness.I think Ajay Allen is very talented and i love the way he runs so I'm hoping he decides to stick around. But as far as returning kicks How do you know? Did he ever return K/P in High School or Nebraska and was he any good at it?
Both Ray Ray & Chris Johnson returned kicks in HS and were excellent at it. They just haven't really broken a big one at UM. However the most important aspect of k/pr, field the kick & don't muff the punt, they have both done very well so i won't complain. We have a top offense So just get them the ball asap.
@BoxingRobes - yup, unfortunately this played out the way we warned it might. These smaller body RB's just work out a smaller % of the time.@bshaw28
That is not completely true, but there has been misunderstanding of the ultimate point bshaw was presenting throughout.Nobody is disputing this. But what’s does this have to do with UM and college success?
What does it have to do with UM? - this comes down to your opinion on the way to construct your roster. You would have no problem with this topic if we were on the topic of say...sub-6'0" linebackers...loading up on "scheme fit" sub-6'0" linebackers, as we have seen, is a poor choice of roster building. If you had the same discussion about small corners, you'd say the...
Chris Johnson Jr., and Ajay Allen both no longer on the team after two years.
I thought Ajay Allen was a useful player, Chris Johnson Jr. was dope on CFB25.
Well Oregons RB James is only 5'10 200. Thats not really a "bigger" back.@BoxingRobes - yup, unfortunately this played out the way we warned it might. These smaller body RB's just work out a smaller % of the time.
As we said a couple years ago & as @DMoney pointed out all year - successful teams use bigger RB's.
I wonder if he comes backhas this guy had any visits yet?
I figured he could get a mid ACC offer or a low SEC offer. He’s a solid back.has this guy had any visits yet?
