Rayshawn Jenkins out for the year

What was his previous injury?

He had a shoulder at the end of last year if I remember correctly.

Glad we got depth at safety finally

Hate losing anyone, especially on D but this is a position where we have depth. The Crawford switch now is looking even better

He's bit the injury bug hard, missed the spring too They'll get him the medical. I expect Hester to step up now into the two deep.

Good thing is, Jamal and Dallas have been stepping it up. To go along with Bush who is was already there. Now we really need Bush to be healthy this year. And need Jamal and Dallas to emerge at safety now.

Telling ya, Hester gonna get a lot of burn now.

Gayot will play more than Hester this season. been sayin that

Hope he gets better. IMO I didnt think he was gonna play much regardless.

Don't think we will see Jenkins start again. I really like him and thought he played about as well as could be expected his freshmen year, but with the talent already closing the gap at safety and the possibility of who we are bringing In,I don't think he will be able to get his position back.

I bet he will.

God Bless him! I'm praying he has a safe and speedy recovery and hope he comes back stronger than he was before.

Up and down but for a kid just learning the position he flashed big play potential. I was really looking forward to seeing him this year because his athleticism and aggressiveness just jumps off the screen at times. So sad for him.

I think Jenkins was good yes. But he also had lot of inconsistencies as the season went on last year.

Wouldn't guarantee him as a starter next year when he comes back , he definitley will be in the two deep next yesr and I felt like he lost any chance of starting this year when he missed spring. He was behind the ball at the moment and battling injuries, heal up and get the medical.

I know about the raves about Gayot, my personal opinion, expecting Hester to have more impact by end of season coming into the two deep.

Better hope Deon is healthy, a healthy Deon is huge for our defense.

Expecting Deon, Dallas and Jamal to do big things this year.

Hester is one of my top 3 favorite recruits from last year. Just a total hitting machine and a kid that actually played the position rather than being converted.

Rayshawn flashed that ball hawking ability that has just been so lackluster here the last few years, it sucks to see him shelved. Usually that stuff is a lot of instinct and confidence so it was good to see a kid so new to the spot show that ability. I think his best years are to come if he can get through this. He definitely disappeared at times but he had that wow factor back there every once in a while. He probably made more big plays than our last 3 or 4 safety duos combined (not saying much)

This I agree with. Rayshawn did show flashes but had bad times too, that's where I brought up inconsistency but I have always seen the potential with him.

I think this injury could be a blessing and allow him to improve, cause he definitely does have talent. He has the body, and athleticism to excel at free safety. Just needs more consistency. Had flashes, but had some bad ones too.

One thing I love is the boner everyone popping for Dallas and Jamal all of a sudden. Trust me, I been pushing for them too to get time out there.
But I can't believe how quick people wrote off Deon.

Guess people forgot that Deon has proved it in game time when healthy that he can knock the lights out of people and make plays. I'm talking about a healthy Deon, not injury riddled and dealing with family issues Deon. Just wait. We're in for a treat with Deon, Dallas and Jamal this year. Hester and Gayot gonna get some too.
