besides the money he is getting in a comfortable job now, you cant disregard the ego of a guy with legend status in the NFL and first ballot hall of famer credentials. imagine him travelling around the country begging 16 and 17 year old kids to let him coach them. dont get me wrong im sure he would be a great recruiter if he wanted but i dont see it.

Not that I think he would accept the position, but you've got it backwards in thinking it would be Ray doing the begging. I suspect prospective college linebackers would be doing the begging to have Ray coach them.

Ray Lewis, just like anyone else, will have to start coaching somewhere else before he gets on staff at UM. Beard at least has high school coaching experience. Lamar Thomas started out in high school, so did Ken Dorsey. Now Lamar Thomas after a stop at Hampton, is coaching at Louisville. A better LB coach right now for future consideration would be Bernard "Tiger" Clark. Even after his admission of making a little money UM while he played here.
