RAY LEWIS

yeah I mean he's been away from his son for so much of his life, he might as well go tell him to **** off for a few more years because he won't be starting.

That TV money is much more than an assistant coaching job. If he wanted to be around the team and his son, he could do it the same with or without being a asst coach. It wouldn't make much sense for him to leave his current gig for this. If so, he would have done it already.

Yeah the money's different, I don't think money is an issue for Ray Lewis. The time spent around his son would be drastically different if he were an assistant coach. He wouldn't have done it already, as the position hasn't even opened up yet. He's obviously not going to leave to be some sort of special assistant, but if ever does want to get back into coaching, the LB coach at the University of Miami is the place he'd start.

My thoughts verbatim.

Let's say for instance this was the case. Why wouldn't have he done it last year? I am pretty certain if Ray came to Al and said I want to be a coach on the staff, Ray would be a coach, position or not. It is a good feel good story, I just don't see it. Plus, it is pretty much out who is coming anyways so this is a moot point.

Again, if Ray wants to be around the program and his son, he wouldn't need to be a coach on staff.

I know he's just salivating at the chance to take a huge pay cut to go work triple the hours. Seems legit.

I don't think money is an issue for him. Maybe after a long career in the NFL he wants to be close to his son.

Maybe it is, maybe it's not. Just bc he has made a lot of money doesn't mean he's invested it wisely. Also think his gig at ESPN would give him more free time to enjoy his son versus being a position coach putting in 18+ hour days.
