If Shannon's struggling this badly to find a DC gig after failing here, then what's the guy who is doing worse than he did going to do when he eventually gets the boot?

- I dont think he was ina "rush" to get a dc job....

he ws getting paid by um....

and randy generally probably wanted to live in an area he was comfortable with....la,dallas tx area, fl.

He did for the twos taffs he went to with tcu and Arkansas....

Im ok with randy as a dc......always have been....think he is worlds better than Golden/No Frio...like their not even in the same tier with him...

But the personality/hc job and general stubbordness/follower stuff he pulled as a hc is what i wasnt a fan of.

Dude tried his best to dissassociate his/our past to an extent it hurt us.

Honestly as a dc..with our same scrub players the last 3-4 years he would of had us looking better and we more than likely make two acc champ games if elgible.

As bad as a supposed coach he was...his position players when they went to the next level all over and over were claimed to be ahead of their counter parts in knowledge of the game and their play. His lbs were nfl ready EVERY **** TIME.

He's been looking for a DC job for a couple years now, and he's been rejected a lot. That's real talk. But he was light years better as a defensive football coach than Golden Cloud or Dorito. There's absolutely no disputing that fact. And he was a better gameday HC than Fat Al.

And that's scary when you think about it.

The scariest. I can at least remember Shannon grabbing the grease board and drawing up some answers during the UNC game when UNC jumped us in and got up 21-0 or something like that in the first quarter. He got involved and helped his DC Walton out in that game, which is more than Diabeetus Gut has done in 3 years here.

Al just stands there with a look of panic similar to when you fart loud enough to wake yourself up and realize the hot chick you're sleeping with for the first time was awake and heard it.

Yeah i mentioned that in a wez thread. If the D was looking bad, or crunch time Randy would be in the defensive huddle during timeouts making sure **** was right.

Randys Ds stayed solid as the talent level fell off the roof under coker. No, he wasnt ready, or cut out for, a hc position. Likely why he initially turned it down. Cant believe any canes fans would rip on him as a dc.

He was alleged to be handing out uncle lukes supposed payments, then hc when the shapiro stuff went down. Thats double taintage, lol. He was put on ice too long, but he will be back as dc somewhere. Hope the best for him, just not as a hc. Comparing him to NoD'Onofrio is a joke. RS had 1 D finish out of the top 20, barely. NoD cant crack the top half.

You're exaggerating man... He was a great DC... When the talent decline we still had a sold defense... He had Javon Nanton (a walk on) making plays... That being said the only good thing about Arky's team was their run game... And to be honest their front 7 was rather good... They weren't awesome but it was an improvement from last year... Even at TCU his backers did fine...

He wasn't exposed as anything... He was what his record was an average-novice head coach... That being said, I think his record speaks volumes... The guy's name been brought in DC discussions for the longest... We'll see what happens this year because I think his settlement will expire... I mean, UTen had players tweeting him congratulations when his name was traced to some DC rumors there... There's interest there...

Was that his lone bad season as a DC? The guy kept a great defense and if it wasn't great he'll have a solid defense... Our 05 defense was pretty good yet he didn't have any elite talent... And at some point you have to give him credit for the defenses... Besides ST, Reed, Vilma and Big Vince who was elite on those defenses? With the amount of guys who were 1st rounders and sub pat careers you'll have to say he just coached the guys up... McDougle, Rumph, DJ Williams, Buchanon, Joseoh etc. he coached those guys up... We had guys with solid NFL careera( DJ Williams) but a lot of the players were coached up...

What HC or AD wants to be the one that hired a known moron? Shalala lied, said he "Blew away the interview", and no one was the wiser (save for a few, like me, who saw through it in a second). Now, EVERYONE knows, without even an argument to the contrary.

There is only one reason Randy lasted as along as he did as DC........Jeff Bowden. Bowden was perhaps the worst OC in the history of college football.

Randy was able to stop that tard on a regular basis. Once Jimbo got there, our D was consistently carved up by FSU.

His buyout clause restricted him to a 2 year period which ended before he took the TCU job.
