But seriously is Nigel Bethal that good? I mean UF did not accept his commitment and his teammate David Wilson has better offers.

Maybe there are differences of opinion between the staffs? We didn't want Divaad Wilson and they do.

Mentioned it in another thread but it's not shocking at all. The incoming DB talent is intimidating. It's gotta force someone out. He was on the outside looking in for playing time before even signing. Couple it with the fact that his family apparently wants him out of Miami and this situation was inevitable.

The fact that our staff is not going to bother recruiting him anymore says everything you need to know.
 
Would have loved to see RR being a gunner on special teams, but obviously if we can keep Bama away from Jobe & Hall this is an afterthought. Its a great problem to have when a player like Russell knows the talent we are bringing in his class and dips to somewhere where he knows playing time is almost guaranteed.

I will say this and maybe Pete can attest.... the staff here knows what's up and I'm sure this did not take them by surprise hence them looking at other prospects the last couple weeks
 
Feels great to be in a position now where a kid can decommit and we don't need to beg to come back in the fold. Plenty of highly ranked kids wanting to play for the U again.
 
When you focusing on recruits you don't have (Campbell and Blades), other coaches will use this against the staff. Russell is a solid safety, but the numbers game caused him to look else where. To all the recruits, just remember...you cannot just look at the current roster and your class...because great HS players are being recruited every year. Basically, you will have to compete...anywhere! I just hope Campbell is not a Macfarland outcome!

To bad I liked his physicality but, probably not as talented as some of the other guys.Seems as it was mutual so good luck to him.Cant take everyone.
