I really don't get how Couch is a priority at CB. Sorry anyone that loves him, but I just don't see it.

Who do we end up with at RB other than Crowley? Do we only take McIntosh or do you think Mellusi or Carter jump on board also?

Who is Lee? Miami is actually doing very well and have commitments lined up between this month and June that will go public.

All replaceable guys

If we can get Eaford/Hopper instead of Pierre then it’s an upgrade. We absolutely must land a MLB this class.

Cunningham has upside, but we can find an OT elsewhere. Brown also has some upside and the versatility to play either side but with the million DL options this year, he won’t be missed.

Daxon, Davis, Ingraham, Sorrells. Get them

Looks like we're phasing out the MLB position except for goal line and short yardage situations. Pretty obvious with the recruiting. Typically, you go 3-4 deep at each position but we seem to be happy having only 2 at the position. Mike Smith is gone, Shaq could be gone, and Jennings has been moved to WLB with Pinckney and Steed, and we're not recruiting 3 MLBs to replace them.

It makes sense given our emphasis on having a Rover type in addition to the 4 other DBs all at the same time (2 CBs, 2 safeties, and Smith playing the slot). This means we lose a LB and are probably left with SLB and WLB. Probably will happen 2019.

2019 starting lineup:

CB - Ivey
CB - Bandy
FS - Hall
SS - Carter
Rover - Smith
WLB - Steed
SLB - Wilder

I get that, and I agree that we def seem to be trending that way but...

I’d bet on 55 leaving after this season. That would leave Jennings as our only guy that could even play MLB st any given situation and I don’t like that..
Nothing against Jennings, he hasn’t done anything to write himself off but I’m just all about competition. While Eaford looks like a very good 2 down guy with the ability to potentially play 3, Hopper def has some versatility and I’d love to land him. Kid was playing CB in some clips, that has 3 down written all over him and he has the size to hold up inside.

And even in the short yardage and GL like you mentioned, what if Jennings were to get hurt next year? Depth never hurts. IMO we must land a MLB type amongst the 3-5 LB’s we take and those 3 guys (Pierre, Hopper, Eaford) seem to be the only legit options.

It is early though, and I’m sure more targets will emerge but hopefully they don’t because if they do then that likely means ..

For now I think just McIntosh but depending on what happens at RB. Like if someone leaves or someone declares early, could change the board a bit. I know they are open to 3 backs if the numbers are right.
