QBS in the Portal as of 11/28

Talking myself into all signs pointing to Ward

To me, it sounds like Ward, Howard and baby Tua if he hits the portal (which would have to be fairly soon since we don’t want this to drag out multiple weeks), with Pratt as a potential wildcard.

Ward would break the bank NIL-wise but the ripple effects could be a sight to behold regarding interested portal prospects wanting to play on a team committed to winning asap + a Heisman-caliber QB.
 
I thought at first we had a very little shot at cam ward but it seems like the chances are opening more…..

Michigan … at first I was like they are a threat but thinking about it you’d be kinda crazy to commit there as a transfer considering you don’t know what’s gonna happen regarding the Sign stealing stuff and future of their head man

USC - likes will Howard…. I thought they had a 5 star in waiting , guess Nelson doesn’t look good ?

All this to say … that’s leaves us….

In a perfect world I say get Cam Ward and take a Donte Moore Type guy to compete with the young guys

I would think so, but that second QB might be a guy that loses a battle for a job in the spring and we snag him as a backup in the second portal window. Could be this window too, who knows - but yes, I’d prefer to bring in a second QB with some experience in the event our QB1 gets hurt (especially if QB1 is a dual threat, which increases his chances of getting banged up).

Malachi Nelson would be good with that? I feel like this is the decision that Oklahoma made with Jackson Arnold vs keeping Dillon Gabriel.

I still think it’s OSU for Ward makes a ton of sense
