I'm gonna keep saying it. In this current NIL era nothing is finalized or over until a kid actually registers for classes.
If I'm Mario, I'm gathering all my big money donors and making a ridiculous offer to Mateer.
It's not hyperbole, this roster as is with Mateer at quarterback starts next year ranked near the top 5. It would be worth every penny and give the program a ton of momentum going into the offseason. Season ticket sales would be through the roof with ND and UF coming to town next season.

That one’s actually pretty easy – he was originally a Cal recruit then flipped to Oregon if I’m not mistaken and now he has an open path to the starting job with Mendoza leaving

Yeah there was some kind of collective campaign leading up to the bowl game where the email said there was a donor who was matching 1 for 1 up until kickoff or something like that.
