QBS in the Portal as of 11/28

Set the market with your offer to Leavitt. Back load it to incentivize him to stay several years. Kid has superstar written all over him.
Not sure back loading would be a successful strategy? He will be draft eligible after next season and probably declare with his current trajectory

Leavitt definitely needs an O Line. I would be surprised if he leaves Dillingham, though.
this ... yall call for guys that have had success ... they just not gone up and leave a good situation because we have a good oline ... there has to be some turmoil involved ... ewers, milroe, and beck fit the bill

I'm fully aware...but if a big program was to swoop in and give Leavitt a huge offer would ASU be ABLE to match it after giving such a large contract to their coach? I have to think a bidding war would make things difficult on them.

Worst case...you drive up the price. I would definitely try.
just saw he's from Oregon....

The QB room is in a worse condition this off-season then it was last year. That is on Dawson. He is recruiting the QB position at Miami like he is at Houston. Taking a project like Judd Anderson, while under recruiting a young man like CJ Bailey is alarming.
I feel like they took Judd because he was an easy recruitment.

So, he didn't also bring on Luke Nickel ? Mario has never had a hs qb as good as Nickel and Dawson has to get a good chunk of that credit

In a vacuum, I wouldn't have a problem with taking a young man with traits with little production(as a second QB in a recruiting class) but taking that project as the sole QB in a class is mal practice. Especially when you underrecruited a QB with the same measurables and better production. Not to mention he was the top recruit on your board's youth football/high school QB. Evaluation wise, there are a lot of red flags. Now that we have a proof of concept on tape the QB recruiting should/better improve.... if not he will be next to to go. The offense this year was more Cam being Cam then scheme... Although the scheme was better then the previous year.

Im not impressed with Nickel at all, especially not as an early starter. In regards to your second comment, I would again disagree. Tyler Shough(out of Hamilton HS in the Phx area) was a better high school prospect than Luke Nickel and after battling injuries he has turned out to be a top tier "power 4" QB. He also inherited Justin Herbert...

Inheriting Herbert isn't same as recruiting him. And I don't think Shough was as good as a freshman as Nickel is. Luke just won Gatorade Player of the Year in Georgia so agree to disagree on that no doubt, but yes I want a portal qb and want to avoid Luke starting game 1 vs ND at all costs.
