Cam who?
Cam who?
Those were deep balls
I hope Cam is the tipping point here. He went from fringe day two, to T5 in one season. Won multiple high level awards, basically did everything a QB wants to do. Meanwhile OU has chased off its last two game 1 starters. Unless they give him a blank check I just don’t see why OU makes sense. Can anyone name 1 advantage Oklahoma provides other than continuity with his OC?
Very highly debatable if Arbuckle (who I like) is even an advantage to Dawson who just keeps pumping out NFL QBs, a number 1 offense, and has credit for identifying multiple lower rated guys that he didn’t get to coach (Mac Jones and Stetson Bennett).
WR - Miami (do they even have any?)
OL - Not even close - Miami
RB - not even close - Miami
TE - not even close - Miami
@PIPO has voting ended? Those were deep balls
For real though, Mendoza > Emory ok but how much better??? I don’t think he’s that much better where we should spend what appears to be the fewer NIL funds we have on him when we desperately need two starting quality corners plus additional help on defense. They’ve been developing Emory for two years now. Unless we’re getting a Mateer or someone similar, Mendoza plus our defense without massive upgrades is a waste in my opinion.Cant believe we’re actually considering emory as an option..
“How much of an upgrade is ___ over emory?”…As if emory has even proven to be a good qb lol Miami
Don't see any reason to think we won't be competitve with NIL with our clear cut #1 portal QB target. Even if OU tries to overpay ridiculously, there's no amount they can overpay that would be commensurate with the difference in compensation Cam is about to get from whichever team drafts him this year relative to what he would have made had he gone to the draft last year. I think that's a huge selling point, and we have a bunch of others in our favor against OU already.I hope Cam is the tipping point here. He went from fringe day two, to T5 in one season. This is where I'm at. Mateer is a clear choice. Most of the other names are not a significant upgrade. For real though, Mendoza > Emory ok but how much better??? Every quarterback in history has been the back-up until they aren't. Why aren't we saying that Oregon and Ohio State need quarterbacks as well with Dante Moore and Julian Sayin in the wings? What have they proven? Moore played like **** at UCLA.Cant believe we’re actually considering emory as an option..

Seems like Mateer is the #1 player on our board regardless of portal or recruitingThis is where I'm at. Mateer is a clear choice. Most of the other names are not a significant upgrade.
Probably because those two were both 5 star, top 20 overall prospects that have elite traits and did a lot of winning in high school. That UCLA offensive line was horrific in pass pro, Moore was put in a horrible spot there.Every quarterback in history has been the back-up until they aren't. I'm not claiming Emory is the answer, I'm just saying he deserves a real chance before being written off.. which I think he will get this year regardless of who they bring in, and that's how it should be.
Only advantage I see with Mendoza over Emory is his game experience. For real though, Mendoza > Emory ok but how much better??? Which is kind of a big deal, right?Only advantage I see with Mendoza over Emory is his game experience.
To be clear, I’m not saying he isn’t better than Emory. I’m just saying that we were and are so bad on defense with so many starting level upgrades needed, that unless we’re getting someone like Mateer, spend our precious NIL money on two starters at CB and add some more upgrades on that side of the ball, not on a minimally incrementally better QBOnly advantage I see with Mendoza over Emory is his game experience.
No doubt but it begs the question when does Emory get his shot, if at all?Which is kind of a big deal, right?
I don’t think he’s that good personally. I know others think he’s Ken Dorsey. I don’t think he give our team much of a chance to do well next yearNo doubt but it begs the question when does Emory get his shot, if at all?
Part of it though is that our QB classes went Jacurri, Emory, and Judd.Every quarterback in history has been the back-up until they aren't. Why aren't we saying that Oregon and Ohio State need quarterbacks as well with Dante Moore and Julian Sayin in the wings? What have they proven? Moore played like **** at UCLA.

The best discussion I've seen on Mendoza was on this great new college football YouTube show:To be clear, I’m not saying he isn’t better than Emory.
