QBS in the Portal as of 11/28

These are just QBs I've seen already enter portal.
Like I said a while ago, Ethan Vasko looks really good by the metrics.... Anyone watch him play? Maybe he's just a beneficiary of a good system though, cause he has worst accuracy grade (its a very bad grade compared to like everyone in the country).... but that could be because his average depth of target was 10.7 yards... idk.

Arnold having low Turnover worthy play rate his first year is pretty good given his talent level, and the fact we know his supporting cast was ****. That's a good indicator imo. That and he was generally accurate. But every other metric he is pretty bad compared to others in the portal.

Put me on the list that doesn't want Mensah.
Watching him throw that ball seems like he's got a noodle arm.

Not sure his stats vs G5 competition equate to playing at Miami, but Tulane has always been a strong program regardless or coach or QB, so hard to say. He throws a very catchable ball and doesn't rifle it in, so its a different style then I'm/we're used to. He's highlights weren't super highlight like. Watching Will Howard or Cam Ward last year, these aren't even close. Is he better then Emory? Maybe, I'll let the millionaire coaches decide.

I’d love to get Mateer but if he’s not an option, my #1 would be Dampier. Big fan of his play making ability and how he’s able to extend drives.

I can assure you Vasko is not benefiting from any system playing under Tim Beck.

That data is pretty eye opening for him though. Not sure if it’s making me like Vasko or if it’s making me think you need reassess the data you use here lol

Chandler Morris is the equivalent of Will Rogers last year… to me.

Nice place to set the floor in the QB portal if you miss elsewhere.

Much better and more familiar with our passing game than someone like Castellanos would be.
Wouldn’t that make sense if the staff really think Emory be the guy? You bring in someone whos floor is decent but has no ceiling really? And probably doesn’t cost much

Im a fan of Connor Weigman.

He has talent, and has shown some great stuff on film.

He could be really nice in Dawsons offense, and a good fit IMO. He is far more athletic than Emory.

He wasnt the best fit for Colin Klein's offense at Texas A&M.

He threw for 336 and had 3 total TDs last year against Miami when we had good safety play.

He was on track for a big season when he broke his ankle in Auburn game. He was trending on very good inching toward potential elite QB play in 2023 when season ending injury happened.

He had his moments this season, but the new offense wasnt great fit.

Probably a bigger NIL deal for Reed if he stays and competes at ATM. Then promising him QB1 of the future or something like that
I don't think Zeno is actually coming in to be the likely starter.

Obviously he'll push for the starting role but from what I read, the expectation is that he would be the backup to Reed and provide them with an experienced starter that can step in if needed.

If Emory was going to be the guy they would have known that before the season ended. The only way he's the guy is if the staff has been watching him and thinking, "this is our future". If they're sitting around going, "do you think Emory is the guy?", then he's not the guy. He's on the team, they see him in practice, they would know.

The only way I see them rolling with him, knowing he's not great, is if they genuinely believe they can spend the money elsewhere and have as much of an impact as a really great QB.

Best portal QB in the current portal class vs. a stud DT, WR, CB, and safety. If that's the equation it's a tough decision. You have a Heisman candidate QB on the roster. It's tough not to ride that wave into 2025.
