QB Decision Update (NEW YEARS DAY ANNOUNCEMENT TO THE LEAGUE)

Just reading the tea leaves personally…

- Miami has the offer set forth and it’s a very nice one
- Business 101 is to not take the first offer, leverages FSU’s current position filled with emotional outrage after CFP “snub” and desperation to go on a mission in 2024, as a team he and his family can maybe squeeze similar $ out of. Gives FSU a chance to match or exceed the offer of a despised rival while enjoying the visiting process and partying during FSU grad week.
- also buys him 2-3 more days for a USC or Ohio St (also in desperate positions for different reasons) to get into the game

- If FSU doesn’t match, Miami is in drivers seat and he has to decide if he wants to pursue a third team and risk losing the $, or take the offer
Nope! Too logical.

The rebuilding of our program is bigger than a a 1-yr mercenary. We need to have the type of foundation through recruiting that attracts tops QBs for years to come.
Ok, you are not wrong and those are valid points.

I just think that if next year Miami won't look vastly improved even Mario's recruiting prowess will take a hit. You can't sustain it without having success on the field and the easier way is to have a game-changing QB1(and WR1 but that's a story for another day).

Do you realize how much THE RIGHT QB can impact a program? Take FSU, for 5-6 years they were "pre season" playoff favorites and ended up 8-4 or so .... UNTIL Winston arrived. He raised the offensive performance to another level entirely, and that brought recruits lining up both on offense and defense. The right guy can be a literal program changer.

Of course, but do you realize this is a 1-yr rental?

Portal success is nice but not sustainable. You need a foundation of recruiting and talent-development with augmentation from the portal.

Easy is welcomed, but all we need is a highly-competent game manager. That's what QB[]__[] has always been about.

Not sure if it's already been discussed but did it get confirmed that DJU visited fsu? I thought I heard he was going there this weekend. Are him and ward there at the same time? Also was it 100% that Howard visited Miami already? We heard he was there but I only heard and saw pics with Ward. Seemed like they had the full court press on for Ward. Did Howard get some love too?

TVD just threw another interception!

That is all.....carry on.

That joke ran out of depth just like the deep balls of Tua when Tyreek is not on the field.

Does Howard's game and build remind anybody else of Tim Tebow? Tebow was a goof but he had leadership skills and blue collar work ethic and the Florida boys seemed to gel well with it. Hated Tebow as a QB prospect but respected his game in college with just the will to fight during the game to win. Might just be me but that seems to line up with Mario philosophy at QB.

I get what you're going for with that one, definitely some similarities. The one name that keeps popping into my head with him is Kyle Trask

UM hasn't been QB U for decades. Ward would elevate the offensive production, help the other QB's shoot higher, and have a more productive offensive unit ready for Nickel when HE arrives in 2025. Kid is amazing and will provide an elite level of play and stability for 3 years.

I was thinking him too!!. Dan Mullen really made Trask look good. I think our roster especially O line is better than Kansas state so i believe his stats would be better here than there. I just like the winning intangible over Ward. Ward is clearly a bettee NFL prospect but we talking college and we want to win now big. A big season and we off to the races with the program. I like having a proven winner leading the guys who all seem hungry to win.

I'm not anti-Ward, but a lot of QBs could potentially fit in that sentence.

I'm just trying to help some people to see the overall progress and realize we are becoming the type of program we all envision Miami can be.
