This is a good question because we all want him to play well, but then we will be scratching our heads as to why he didn't see the field.

My prediction is that he will have good plays and then follow it up with something that says, oh that's why he didn't play.

Brown can build his stock as a transfer QB if he has a quality game or he can work on switching positions if he is awful. I'm very interested in seeing what he does.

Given what happened at USC last night , maybe committing to a team before their bowl game is the smart play. Howard just lost a lot of leverage with USC and no way there offer stays the same.

The best case scenario is that we have had Ward locked up for a while now and were just waiting until after the Bowl game to announce.

The worst case scenario is that the Ward camp drags this out as long as possible then dips to the NFL. We will then be left with nothing but our collective schlongs in our hands because by that time Will Howard and KJ Jefferson will be off the board. We will scramble to get Matt Slaka from Holy Cross assuming he is still available.

The likely outcome at this point is the Ward's have decided that entering the draft is their best move and we pivot to KJ Jefferson before another team pounces on him. The longer this goes without an announcement that we have come to terms with Ward the less likely it is that we get Ward. I will put the deadline at Thursday evening after the game or Friday the day after the game when the staff has arrived back in Miami. If there is nothing by Friday evening, then IMHO Ward is not coming.

On the other hand, as a Heat fan, this feels a lot like the Dame Lillard to Miami venture this past summer.

We have made a great offer. The Wards probably want an extra “sucks tax in a few hundred Ks” and it seems like the offer was the offer and it’s a showdown in terms of what’s going to happen. The dragged out long term waiting game makes very little sense even for the biggest believer.
