I'd take a young highly rated transfer over any high school QB. He'll be ready in a year and since he's already used his 1-time transfer, you have him locked in for the next 2-3 years. You can really start to stack QBs. I'd go young portal QB every 2 years.

We need 3 QBs in this year's cycle. Since it looks like CJ is sticking with NC State, give me a young transfer QB like Moore with 2-3 years of eligibility along with a 1-year transfer.

ok now put yourself on the shoes of the entity offering the high salary job. You don’t let the prospective employee dictate the terms and you try however possible no to give them opportunity to see other jobs. You make the offer and the offer has an expiration date that’s like 24-48 hours from now. The U Can’t afford to wait for this dude any more than that imo

I can tell most these ppl on this board aren’t in sales as a professional career. Rarely if ever, even with the best “value” in a deal you don’t close your prospect on the spot.

These kids have a lot of options and this is full blown free agency at this point. As I stated very early on. I’m not worried until 5pm Friday if we still don’t have a QB locked in. The circle jerk and losers on Twitter jumped the gun like they always do looking for internet clout. It’s embarrassing that everyone wants to be an “insider” “news breaker” or relevant in this world. Just sit back and enjoy the chaos of what college football has become.

Miami clearly has the money which was my concern months ago. Now it seems money is truly backing Mario so it will work out either way.

Maybe going to Houston which isn’t that far to go back to the trailers on Thursday but I agree why go home to come right back instead of kicking up in a nice hotel then hitting trailer town on Thursday.
 
Very possible that he went to JS's on Tuesday night and they all don't want it to be recruiting violation so he's dragging it out..

If the 2-2-1/2 is correct, they’re already overpaying. That’s Heisman-esque kinda of money and Ward didn’t sniff the Heisman this year and wouldn’t if he came to Miami next year.

Mario can’t be held hostage and that kind of money would set a precedent that probably isn’t sustainable at Miami. It’s also not a good look on Ward’s part if he’s trying to squeeze Miami for more money.

I would say so but add in Lyle. I think Miami gets 1 of them but not both. I think their rankings are similar as of now so not sure how much it matters. I think Riley is the better prospect by far though and that’s what really matters.

I agree, I don't know if ranking-wise they are similar though. If I were a Gator fan I would have known it by memory.

So JV said on Tuesday, it would be “today - meaning Tuesday” or tomorrow “meaning Wednesday”.

And I for one believe this to have been true at the time. We all just have to remember that instead of attacking guys who share something shared by someone on the “inside - ala booster, UM staff” etc….it doesn’t mean that the player(s)/recruit hasn’t flipped the script and changed his mind, convinced by his camp or other teams to hold off and give it some thought etc etc etc.

This sounds like it was done, but before pen could hit paper, someone got cold feet.

For the record - I think Will Howard will be our QB1 for 2024. Imo something happened with the Ward deal and it fell through - and not anything on the UM side of the table. *I have no inside information* - just purely my opinion
