Not really. You can argue that Howard is better than Cam. Cam turns the ball over, we need someone who can reliably distribute to playmakers and take care of the ball. We’re not Louisville who needed a generational Lamar Jackson to contend. Our talent level is contention material outside of the QB spot. The pieces are there for the most part. They were definitely there this year, we had coaching and an unreliable/hurt QB.

Of course he wasn't. I don't know how some of our fanbase gets these made up narratives mixed up with facts. Some people whole heartedly believe that Howard was ready to committ but we told him no because we're waiting on Cam Ward. If Howard balls out and we miss on Cam it will become a folktale around here that Mario passed on Howard. Smh lol

I really like Will Howard and think he would've been a great fit for our program; arguably a better football player.

I don't think we could go wrong with either QB, but Cam is a more gifted passer of the football and his natural arm-talent raises our ceiling.

if howard announces to USC then miami loses any and all leverage and this may drag out.

let's hope cam's camp has already gotten an appropriate offer and just makes a decision this weekend and/or the staff has a backup plan that isn't common knowledge

Already lost, the proof is that we are way past UM deadline. Let’s hope that Ward will pick (or already picked) Miami.

Howard is no longer available imho.

well cam ward's dad originally said monday was when Miami wanted an answer, so we're not past the deadline that was actually given ---- although howard trending so heavily to USC is ultimately losing the leverage like mentioned

today is the last day they can visit campuses, then it's only talking via phone until the dead period is over, no in-person contnact

That happened after he confirmed the visit to FSU imho. UM people gave DMoney a different timeline, hence the first “QB decision” thread.

After that, it was no longer in our hands, and leverage was lost.
