I saw this thread getting bumped and thought maybe there's some good news.
Then I see that the tweets posted are about Julian Lewis and Bryce Underwood flipping to other schools.
Oh well. Maybe next year.

when he portals in. I actually don’t think there is much value paying for a top 5 HS QB. This is the NIL era, UM needs to go out and get the best QB it can in the portal. Get a reputation as always landing the best QB available and WR recruits will know they are going to always have a good QB situation. For example, if UM lands Mateer, he’s going to be the QB for 2 years. Say we get lucky and get an elite 5 star QB who actually pans out. If he’s that good, he ends up only sticking around 3 years.

No, he probably is the best 3 star QB this cycle. But, none of the top 10 teams are chasing him……..

Im truly not a fan of pursuing the high cost high school QB. Better options in the portal than what Nebraska and Tennessee have got going.
I think our approach is correct. High upside 3 stars and solid 4 star qbs and if you can out recruit them in the portal, that’s where you allocate the crazy money.
High school players I’d want Bigger allocation of NIL is DL, DB, WR and to some degree LB.

When you stop including On3 and realize that only 24/7 rankings matter (if any matter at all)...........
His offer list is pure group of 5ish...............I like him and think he might be a good back up. But, unless he really blossoms (like Cam Ward did), most of the big programs, evaluated by staffs' whose jobs depend on evaluations, don't want him. Heck even Georgia Tech hasn't given him an offer...........................
He is no five star coveted by OSU, Bama, UGa, Texas, O, Michigan..... Again, I like him but..................

I'll gracefully give you half a pass on the GT comment, because 247 (the website whose ranking you believe are the only ones that matter) has two entries for GT on Nickel's recruiting page (one says he has an offer, and the other says he doesn't). But if you checked the timeline, you'd know GT offered him back in 7/2023
