The day after Kaaya is named starter, my wife gives birth to a healthy baby boy. I'm taking it as a sign that the bleak days are behind us.

Congrats to you and Yany homie.

What's the name?

Elias Daniel (Eli).

On a possibly related note, the Bible says that the arrival of Elias means that the return of the Messiah is imminent. I'm just saying...

The Messiah walks upon us, we coming. Congrats on welcoming your child into this world, here's to a clean bill of health and Eli's first football season being a good one. Go Canes

Why anyone would give any thought to comments from players (who rarely talk to the press) or coaches who have a mike stuck in their face after a long hot practice is beyond me.
Yet some of the player comments would suggest otherwise.

"Brad Kaaya is better than Jake Heaps. Right now. By a lot. He is more accurate, takes less sacks, throws half as many picks, has better movement in the pocket, has better movement outside the pocket, has more arm strength, can see over the line, and makes more throws.

If Brad Kaaya doesn't start, I will be surprised and quite frankly disturbed. This is not based on Vine videos or reporter tweets. That's all I will say about that."

I believe in you

Ok, where is blackvern and what have you done with him? If you are shaking off the darkness, I am going to need some "we are winning the NC" level Koolaide just to maintain the proper distance.

I think the 2016 kids saw something first. The rest of us must be spinning for the last 10 years and could see straight. Maybe it is indeed time to break out the old Phil Collins song. "Can you feel it coming in the air tonight ...... Now I am hyped.

Are you actually serious? That's precisely why you want to hear what the players say. They're not as preprocessing the media and will often give an honest answer or even slip up saying something they shouldn't have. Coaches sling b.s. all the time and rarely give an honest answer. The one exception to that is SOS and he can b.s. with the best of them at times.

D$ covered this over a week ago and I'll take the coaches take when their butts are on the line and they are grading film after practice over players that may have a bias or friendship tied to it. I'm just saying...

Congrats, DMoney.

Would love to get your thoughts on the Defense. What have you heard this summer?

Wow, I want to ******* cry! Is this really happening! Gotta give credit where credit is due, Dmoney is clutch!

Prior to Kaaya being named the starter the only things I was looking forward to were Dallas Crawford at safety and a handful of our newcomers like Chad Thomas. I saw the spring game and I've bet against Jake Heaps countless times. We're kidding ourselves with any of those guys at quarterback. In brief glimpses of Kaaya he has instincts and moxie that we've lacked for a decade or more. I'm sure the weaknesses will show up but right now I'm very enthused, and confident we'll get rid of that ridiculous V offense with everything fed toward the outside in petrified fashion.
