Projected to play in the Pop Tarts Bowl

I want BYU to pull that fake field goal play from the UCF game and see how dumb Miami looks out there.

JFC lol I FULLY expect Byu to come full strength with 25+ year olds while all our starters opt out :(
Do you realize how many of our starters are returning for next year? Especially on offense. Never mind the fact that you have a lot of youngsters that got a ton of snaps this year, that will be looking to ball out, show what they have for next year.

Would much rather have one of the teams of mercenaries like Ole Miss where none of them are going to play like our roster

BYU will have everyone playing.
If they are going to give us a B12 team, why wouldn't it be Colorado lol? They should think of the ratings lol

That King injury still haunts me. Mother****ers rushed him back for a game against Bama where Miami was gonna get bent over anyways.

I think that decision basically got Diaz fired. Coming off 8-3 season, things looked better. Knew we would get crushed by Bama but could run the table from there.

Miami narrowly beat an app state team that ended up going 10-4 , but people went batsh!t crazy over barely beating a “lesser”opponent. King was a shell of himself and couldn’t run.

Then Lost to a Michigan State team that ended up going 11-2 yet Diaz was put on notice.

Then came a 2 pt loss to UVA and Diaz was going to need a miracle to keep his job. That 2 pt loss was with TVD, who we now know was not a good QB. He barely had a 50% completion rate that game. I think we win with a healthy King.

Next loss was 3 pt road loss to UNC. TVD threw three picks. But Diaz got the blame because that was overshadowed by the defense giving up 45. His fate was sealed. IMO we also win with a healthy King as he doesn’t throw 3 picks.

Diaz was already fired but gut feeling is we beat FSU instead of a 31-28 loss.

but even if you still say that game was an L, if King sits out Bama and comes back healthy, that team finishes with no less than 9 wins.
We also missed the bowl game against WSu due to Covid , they ended up losing to Central Michigan. That was easily going to be another W. So there was a real possibility of UM having a 10 win season instead of 7 wins and Diaz getting fired. That said, 2022 would still have been a disaster due to TVD and Diaz probably gets canned. Bright side is Cristobal would likely have already received an extension from Oregon after 2022 and off the market so we could have ended up with a good coach (UM undoubtedly goes cheap and hires Lashlee, and I think we are much happier today).

I was speaking in Hyperbole when I said all starters but on the offensive side i fully expect Martinez, Ward, X, George, Rivers, Arroyo just off the top of my head not to play, Defense we don't even need to discuss that. Basically all the Impact players from this season prolly ain't making an appearance. The only thing that intrigues me is seeing Emory n how he performs against a good team n maybe aome of the youngsters on D. (if its actually byu we play)

Especially on offense? Is there some sarcasm or something I’m missing here? We return 3 starters on O next year. And of the defensive starters that are returning, outside of 4 and 29, we don’t want any of them returning. I’m confused?

I would just decline an invite. We have terrible bowl injury luck We can’t afford another Mark Fletcher injury like last year or D’Eriq King a few years before that.

Not worth it for anyone
Agreed. What the f**k is the point of playing in this c**ksucker bowl? F**k this sh*t.

Diaz and Mario have very similar records in their first 3 years. Mario has also been given all the money and resources too. Not saying Manny is better because he was the worst out of Golden Richt Shannon and Mario but Mario isn’t exactly making things easy.

I take back what I said before and I want Jaden Harris to start. I want to see some future insurance salesman, 24 year old Mormon with 10 kids spin #7 around like a top

Mauigoa, Horton, Bell(who got a ton of time), Cooper, Fletch, Lyle(Who played a fair amount). That's not even including guys like Riley Williams, and Rodriguez(Pre injury) who saw significant time. That's my point. There will be a lot of talent missing(Especially with guys like Ward, X(Who may play(Although he shouldn't), who knows when it comes to him), George and Arroyo, but it isn't like entire two deep is decimated. Again, you really think that BYU won't have anyone opt out? Seriously? Some of ya'll need to get laid, touch grass or something, if you think that BYU won't have some guys hit the portal, or opt out.

The point of this bowl game is to get a good look at the youngsters, especially guys like Emory, and see what is there. When you have key OL available, and your tailbacks, you should be able to cobble together a solid gameplan centering around running the rock, and testing out the young receivers, with Horton being the centerpiece of the passing game.

Uh no. But nice strawman. I wrote a post comparing what 2021 might have looked like if a healthy King plays the whole season instead of TVD and added that Diaz almost certainly gets fired in 2022 anyways as I think it’s still a 5 win team with TVD.
