I don't want him around the program or anything. But I was impressed he coached offense and defense while in the league. Not sure how common that is. Maybe plenty common.
10 wins and nothing to show. With the kind of investment the program is making for Mario, no one is interested in pseudo "progress years." It's time to get championships after 20 years of BS. He is not delivering.

Until Mario actually changes the culture and gets significantly better on game day and his evaluation of players, it won't matter. This is the greatest offense I've ever seen at Miami, with a weak schedule and you still can't make it to the conference championship game. He's changed coaches how many times in three years? Why can't he get it right the first or even second time with all of these resources? He's burning $$ on hiring and firing staff with his incompetence. He's not the guy.

Ryan Walters, former Purdue HC, he did well at Illinois and Mizzu as DC before that
Johnny Nansen, Co-DC at Texas, previous time as P4 DC, makes $900k now
Someone else mentioned the name Clint Hurtt, but he’s coaching DL on the Eagles and I’m not sure if timing would work out, also he’s been outa the recruiting game for many years

The greatest offense you’ve ever seen at Miami… and Mario assembled it. Even if you credit it mostly to Ward (which I do), he brought us the line, OC, had Horton developed, a mean stable of RBs, and Ward himself was recruited heavily by Mario.
He can get it done, but it took cavemen a while to discover fire. Get the best DC money can buy and we should be a really good team next year. I agree 100% he needs to prove it, but I think he will have us contenders for the playoff year in and out. Get us to respectable status in CFB again and let things snowball.
