I can’t sugar coat this. This is not a good look for our coaches. Can’t let that happen again.
we have more athleticism than most schools we play...in fact, there have been G5 and FCS schools that faired better on defense vs the same opponents - bottom line, this defense failed us during ACC play. Our offense was able to bail us out most games....but this Hot Dog Water Scheme that Guidry runs ain't fooling these OCs any moreDid anyone think that we just might not have the athleticism we thought we had on D and we just can’t man up .
We’ve seen this before almost every year
When Mario threw all of those players under the bus and said that our talent level was awful, I said that was BS. 3 out of those 5 dudes are ex-Canes.I can’t sugar coat this. This is not a good look for our coaches. Can’t let that happen again.
Well I am not sure you can bank on us having an explosive offense next year anywayI don’t know who the candidate might be but I know what I would like him to emphasize. In College Football today you want a high scoring Offense complemented by an attacking defense that creates negative plays and turnovers. If you coach an attacking style with an explosive Offense, I think you can win big in today’s College landscape. It also allows you to attract highly rated High School athletes and Portal transfers who are looking to upgrade their NFL prospects.
Wait until Chris Johnson goes to SMUI can’t sugar coat this. This is not a good look for our coaches. Can’t let that happen again.
**** it I’ll say itWhen Mario threw all of those players under the bus and said that our talent level was awful, I said that was BS. 3 out of those 5 dudes are ex-Canes.
Harvey had 7 sacks. Roberts had 5 1/2, JHH had 6.
Brashard Smith had 1500 yards from scrimmage and 19 TD’s.
Key Smith Had 500 yds and 5 TD’s.
These are the same players that many of you called trash.
When will some of you realize that coaching, scheming and play calling are more important than ever? In the NIL era, there is more parity than ever. You better have good/great coaches if you want to win big.
We will have a solid OL, solid to very good RB’s, quality TE’s, good WR room and Emory has shown he is capable. Any Portal additions should only upgrade that Offense.Well I am not sure you can bank on us having an explosive offense next year anyway
Do they though?Pitt always has a good defense. Who has Narduzzi got? Who did he have previously?
so youre saying Mario sucks as a recruiter then because it is his rosterDid anyone think that we just might not have the athleticism we thought we had on D and we just can’t man up .
We’ve seen this before almost every year
You’re now officially a candidate for “death by bunga.”Randy Shannon
Do they though?
They're routinely ranked in the middle of the pack in the ACC.
No , if your post is correct then why do we hire employees then find out their not what they were supposed to be ?so youre saying Mario sucks as a recruiter then because it is his roster
Yea, he hates recruiting. Don’t see it making sense for either party. He had a very great setup at Wisky and that was still too much for him.
Here’s a list of the top 25 scoring defenses:

Next here’s my list of potential targets:
Bryan Brown -Ole Miss Co-DC, making $750k currently
Bryan Brown - Football Coach - Ole Miss Athletics - Hotty Toddy
Bryan Brown was named co-defensive coordinator and secondary coach in January 2024. Brown, a Mississippi native and four-year letterwinner for the Rebels fro...olemisssports.com
Ryan Walters, former Purdue HC, he did well at Illinois and Mizzu as DC before that
Johnny Nansen, Co-DC at Texas, previous time as P4 DC, makes $900k now
Corey Batoon, DC at Mizzu, makes about $1mm, nice resume, with ties to south Florida
Tyler Santucci, GaTech, makes $600k, very solid resume
Yup Jim Leonhard definitely doesn't appear to like recruiting nor does he apparently enjoy the developmental aspect of working with raw athletes. That said his 3-4 scheme is nuts and I like it.
