Plus Jordan does a lot of things from crashing the run, to rushing the passer to blanketing Gronk in New England earlier in the year. The guy is a creative DC's dream (insert joke).
Jordan crashes the run only when he's completely unblocked from the backside, which happened twice against the Jets. When Jordan is engaged, he's horrendous against the run, tossed around like a rag doll. It's comical to behold, like the Patriots' final touchdown drive a month ago. That series of plays is what led to a decrease in Jordan's playing time. Miami simply couldn't afford fragility like that.
Vernon is displaying surprising moves and subtlety this season, particularly when used on inside rushes on obvious passing downs. He's considerably more competitive than Jordan. The Dolphins have found a good mix with Vernon inside and Jordan at right end on those rushing downs. Vernon is decent but not special when used strictly at right end.
If Jordan can't loop the tackle he's basically worthless at right end. No variety of moves and he's very slow off the ball given his length and athleticism. Jordan's big strength is he can cover a tremendous amount of ground in very few steps once he's freed and has momentum.
