Pro Canes- Olivier Vernon

The greatest thing about our guys is the length of their careers and the high level of play throughout.

Any guess as who the next underachieving Cane turned solid pro will be? I say Curtis Porter.

Ya I'm a Dolphin fan, but dolphins got a steal with Vernon in the fourth.

Vernon this year is already a double digit sack guy. Guy has 10 sacks already, and multiple tfl.

I think he is fourth or fifth in league for sacks, he realy plays hard also as he had maybe ten tackles yesterday...kid got screwed here by shapiro but love showing our guys love on the next level.

Our incoming recruit Trent Harris looks like his twin in looks and playing style.

If Trent is an Oliver Vernon clone...that would be scary...I never doubt Vernon skills He was big strong and extreme fast off the ball

the only thing standing in his way was sanctions and maybe the shannonazation...I don't want our players to wait to get to the NFL to shine..

The dolphins' staff loves Vernon, he wasn't the target to be replaced. This offseason Cam Wake turns 32 and is being paid handsomely. This, or the next, will be his last in Miami; or at least at a high price and full time. It seems the Jordan pick was with that line of thinking.

Plus Jordan does a lot of things from crashing the run, to rushing the passer to blanketing Gronk in New England earlier in the year. The guy is a creative DC's dream (insert joke).

2010 was such a f'in corching job...that team was good enough to at the very least win the ACC and finish 11-1ish.

Yeah there were some jags on that squad too (secondary was so so), DT was JAGish, but those guys are good enough to be impact NFL players. Brandon Harris was a relatively high pick, and DVD bounced around the league a bit too.

Yet that team went 7-6. Unreal...

In a few years we will see guys like Bush, Howard, Dorsett, etc. killing it in the league and wonder how we didn't win more games.

I like the Wheeler pick more than ST. ST has the physical ability, but I hope he has what it takes in the pros. Hopefully not another Jonathan Martin

When we drafted Dion Jordan me an my boy both looked at each other an said he aint starting over Vernon. He really was coming on at end of last yr, which is why I know ireland needs to be canned, you move up to draft a de after drafting a starting quality one the yr before?
Vernon has kept Jordan off the field all year. It is a nice problem t have, but not when u have gaping holes elsewhere

I feel ya but you can't really have enough good pass rushers. And in his little action Dion has looked GOOD. Whoever is the next coach of the Phins is gonna have some Line talent.

dont think he took much if anything...shapiro supposedly gave money to American High's Booster club..and dude got to sit in a suite at pro player stadium something he probably did a few times before he was even a recruit.

dude got screwed man..and was a sacrificial lamb for um. The crazy part is he was a cane lock for the most part...didnt need Shapiro to lock him in..saw him that spring of his jr year...all cane. Drew Rosenhaus even admitted this the other night on Channel 7 hpw he got screwed over wth the 6 game suspension....dude when he has his conditioning up is really tough to block..

I see Trent Harris in that role as well. He's got that first step quickness.
