I felt last weekend's breakdown of Niagara to be pretty on point and some good food for thought. Shoutout @Lance Roffers for being spot on with his preview & @Cane44 for starting a thread last week.

So I figured we could get one going for this weekend as Princeton hasn't played a game this year so there's no current film to go off of.

From stats and last seasons performance it looks like they have a good sidearmer out of the pen and about 3 returning players who hit decent last year.

Looks like we should win all 4 this weekend, any less would be a concern

Would love to hear yall's thoughts!

A loss this weekend and the snowball effect happens in my opinion:

Good Connecticut team followed by a Florida program that has owned us like (I would argue) no other program has owned another baseball program in the entire country. Total and complete belt to *** where UF has made us look like a mid major level team with the dominance they have had since sully has gotten there.

Have a really hard time believing that changes this year so these next 2 series are ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL

They were picked 4th in the Ivy. So as long as they don’t kick it around (which I wouldnt expect for 4 games) they should pose as a good step up. Meaning we win all 4 but we have to execute and not give away runs or they could take one. But I’d hope for 2-3 of the games to be 8+ run wins and maybe they keep one closer than we’d like.

In our last 5 series vs UF we are 5-10. I think we scrape one based off that trend, but I agree that the series v UCONN is the better test for where this team lies.

UConn is always well coached by Penders. They will be aggressive in everything they do. I watched 2 of their games this past weekend against Stetson and Penn State. They went 0-3 for the weekend in Puerto Rico and their pitching gave up something like 26 BB and 6HBP.

Wow I just looked at those games and that pitching performance was atrocious. But they had 6+ runs scored every game which is scary. We need our bats to come alive to win these games against teams like them most likely, its just the landscape of college baseball now

This Northern teams with no outside practices and in this case any games so far is crazy to me.. major benefit for us we better take advantage of.

Canes better get the Jobu shrine set up on the locker room and warm those bats up......

Yes, I would agree the bats need to get hot just like the weather.

What do you think our best optimal lineup should be?

I think the optimal lineup has been the one we’ve been rolling out actually.
Ogden
Dorian
Cuvet
Galvin
Williams
Marsh
Smith
Hudson
Torres
I could see them flipping Marsh and Hudson at some point if any change happens. They have the right idea with the R/L/R/L mindset, just need to get hot

Anyone think moving Cuvet down in the lineup temporarily just to take the pressure off and see more fastballs down in the order will benefit him? He sees nothing but off speed pitches down and away and looks like he’s pressing big time . Keeping him up in the order might continue to keep him frustrated with his high rate of strikeouts at the moment especially having to have to face the gators soon. Want to see Danny Dingers back in old form but I think it’s a confidence thing and trying to do too much at the moment

This essentially guarantees that we will score, like, 6 runs total for the weekend, with 4 of them being Sunday.

Winning 4 games against anyone is a tough feet for anyone. I still think we go 4-0 this week.

I get what you’re saying, but the problem that sticks out more to me is that he’s missing fastballs. That shows to me that it’s more of a mechanical thing (the head sway) rather than mental. He’s a great player and it will come around, no point in maybe creating a confidence issue by moving him down.
