I dunno, Freeman had one of the worse games I have ever seen during the NCState game. Also didn't help that Lance ducked a pass that got intercepted.

Yep, I was at that game. I'll never forgive Freeman or LL for their crappy performances. Or our dipsh*t of a head coach who handed the starting QB job to Freeman at the beginning of that season.

Yea but that game we had no choice... Kyle was hurt that game... I like Kyle's attitude his last year, but he didnt have the weapons to help him...

Taylor Cook ended up at Rice as a TE (same position most thought he'd eventually play if he stayed here).

I've never seen Dewey play, but I do remember ESPN liked him. He was top 150 kid in their rankings.

Dewey seems to have all the fundamentals, but looks like he needs a RS year to get use to the speed of the game and gain more self-confidence. With Morris coming back next year, I believe QB battle to replace him will be the most watched position on the team in 2014. I think Dewey has a better chance than Williams, though my bet is on Olsen to win outright as a RS FR.

He was an Elite 11 finalist, an Under Armour All American, and the #6 QB on ESPN; he was coached by Ty Detmer.

I'd say he is the real deal.

I put the Detmer thing fourth on the list. Even if his H.S. coach was Freddy Schmertz, Dewey is the real deal.

Getting the benefit of Detmer's experience and mentoring probably can't hurt.

Not for nothing, but I've heard from people around the team that he is confident and carries himself well.

I wonder how much a possible red shirt played into Dewey finishing 3rd and not 2nd in the rotation. Sparing injuries I think we should shirt both Dewey and Crow this year and Olsen next year. Morris will have the job this year and next and then after that it will be up in the air. I know everyone wants to crown Olsen already but Dewey and Crow both had outstanding GPA's in high school if I recall correctly. I think both of these guys are really going to grow in decision making. We are going to be fine guys.

We do need Morris to stay healthy this year.
