Preston Dewey is our 3rd string QB

Dewey's legit. Stop comparing him to proven losers.

IMO, he was the best-looking QB at the Spring Game this year. If anyone on the roster reminds me of Dorsey, it's him.

I think thats where you can make a mistake... Lets stop looking for the next Dorsey... He didn't remind me of Dorsey when he played but for a freshman in the spring game he did alright where you can see potential but not Dorsey...

If they're white with limited arm strength and decent accuracy, they're the next Dorsey. Just like every white linebacker reminds people of Dan Morgan.

Hahaa yep... Which is sad and unfair...

Still think crow will grow into a TE or safety
He's very athletic and will grow into another spot if QB isn't his future

The kids already 225 and not that fast, he won't be playing safety.

Say whatever you want about Kirby, but he provided an extremely happy, if not outright unbelievable, moment. That comeback victory at Doak was surreal.

He's third string because they probley don't want to burn his redshirt unless they have to.

I'll never hate Kirby or Jacory because of the 4 years I was in Tallahassee they gave me 2 wins in the Doak which I will never forget. The game Kirby won was my freshman year and the fans were absolutely insane. I almost got jumped multiple times just for being a Cane.

It was my last year of law school and I was visiting tons of friends in Tally. On my way back to the madness at Indian Village, we had a record amount of beer bottles thrown at us. Just awesome. I felt like I had wings.

This isn't the WEZ, by the way.

I said what I said because I saw (in high school highlights and at practices, scrimmages, and the spring game) a QB with very good accuracy and decision-making that was advanced for his age/level. If you consider the fact that he hasn't really played since his Junior year of H.S., it's tough to not be impressed by what he's displayed so far.

I hated Freeman when he was here. I thought he was hot garbage, and at best a 3rd string guy. It is unbelievable how bad Coker and Randy were at choosing and landing a good QB. We haven't recruited an above average QB since Dorsey in 1999 and that was Butch.

With that said Freeman is not the worst QB do don the UM color's in the past 20 years or so. That distinction goes to Cannon Smith and Buck Ortega. Cannon Smith had no size, no arm, and no skill to be a top D1 QB. The fact that Randy offered him a scholarship is embarrassing and incomprehensible.

Just watching Cannon Smith in pre-game or in the Spring game was nauseating, I mean this guy really sucked.

Anyone who saw the 2002 (?) Spring game can co-sign on my Buck sucks as a QB. That guy was awful. Didn't complete a pass (I'm talking 3 yard patterns here), looked lost, and had horrible mechanics. Buck looked like he was standing in cement on all of his throws. **** good H-Back however.

I dunno, Freeman had one of the worse games I have ever seen during the NCState game. Also didn't help that Lance ducked a pass that got intercepted.

Buck was recruited more as an athlete than a QB though. He was always a good special teams player and had a couple years as an NFL Tight end.

Yep, I was at that game. I'll never forgive Freeman or LL for their crappy performances. Or our dipsh*t of a head coach who handed the starting QB job to Freeman at the beginning of that season.

but don't you remember, his father was going to donate a couple hundred million to UM's foundation, and build an on-campus replica of the Orange Bowl "Fed Ex Field - the Deuce."

Dewey was one of my favorite recruits we signed. Have to remember the kid got hurt at the end of his high school season. Couldn't participate in the Army All Star game because of it. Shows up in spring and participates about a month or so later. I think he's going to surprise folk. Wouldn't compare him to anyone bad cause. Plus doesn't hurt having Ty Detmer as your coach in high school. If anything you know he's going to be ahead of most freshman QBs in terms of understanding how to run an offense.
