11 point road loss is all people will see. Some voters won't pay attention to the fact they were destroyed by Arky, just that it was a road loss. This is all still dependent on tomorrow's games though.

90% of you in this thread are nuts.

We won't be any lower than #3. We are pretty much the talk of college basketball right now. Every unbiased metric (RPI, SOS, whatever else you want to use) points to us being either the best team in the country or close to it.

I would not be shocked at all if we are #2.

I will be nervous if we ever get that number one spot. seems like it has been a curse of everyone who has got it.

Up until today, I felt the same way. Did not want the curse of no. 1. But then I figured, if we don't get there during the regular season, we won't get there unless we win it all, which may happen, but wow! It will be hard.

That said, I do want to be number 1 and soon. It will be the first time in this programs history that we can all say that our basketball team is the number one team in the country. And it's February! Who would have thunk it after Florida Gulf Coast?? If it even lasts only one week, I will cherish the notion that we are no. 1 and enjoy every second while it lasts (hopefully through the tournaments and right up to our first BB National Championship and beyond). GO CANES!!!

Eff it. This team deserves to be number 1. That's my opinion. And it's shared by quite a few in the college basketball world and that opinion is gaining steam. This isnt Larranaga's first rodeo and I'm sure he will have the team handle whatever hurdle is in their way. This isnt a good team, it's a great team.

I said it in a different thread... this is probably one of the only teams that is mature enough to handle a #1 ranking right now. If you follow these guys on Twitter you will notice that they tweet like crazy after a game, talking **** and having fun. However, after 24hrs, its silent. They know how to handle success and failure. Coach L keeps this team in the right mindset at all times. He is a purist and that is how this team plays.

#1, 2, 3, and 5 lost. Gonzaga is currently ahead by 15, and Arizona plays Cal tomorrow. Assuming they both win, we should be 3-4 possibly jumping Gonzaga IMO.

BTW, for all those who don't want to be #1... WTF are you talking about? The best thing about being #1 is you can lose, and drop three spots and still be a #1 seed.

The higher the better. Our team has no ***** to give and we aren't selling any ***** at the concession stands so you should all have zero ***** to give as well. I don't give a ****. I want to see UM #1. In everything, always.
