Northrup was big. I think he was at 225 already his denior year. Kid hit HARD. We all dogged him for his performance in the playoffs but kid was the goods.


Blue was lightly recruited ONLY because he was so skinny..............not anymore
 
Not sure how getting Northrup backfires on FSU. I still wouldn't mind having Northrup. Especially with Witt gone.


I really feel for Witt and I definitely think he'd be out there making noise right now. I hope he still goes and gets his education from Miami. Maybe he can be a GA one day and coach or something.
 
This isn't the bandwagon thread, but I will be riding the bandwagon of Jawand Blue for sure. Dude looks mean as fack, and is only a true Freshman. Gotta love the other Freshmen like Duke/Howard/Bush/etc...but I'm 1000% all-in on Blue's bandwagon.
 
I think we need to cool it on Duke a little. I know he's a great runner/receiver, but he does struggle in pass protection and that is an important facet of our offense. Needs to increase his blocking ability and strength.

He'll never be truly great at that in his career at 5'9" 195-205 pounds. There aren't many Marice Jones-Drew's out there. And anything heavier than 205 for Duke would be pushing it and he would lose agility.


As long as he can chip a DE or LB that's fine by me. And he has shown he can do that.
 
It seems as though some of the freshmen have realized the kind of opportunity that lies ahead of them this year and beyond. It all started with many of them 6-8 months ago when they were EE's. You don't just show up for fall camp and turn it on like a light switch. It takes preparation and hard work. Obviously showing out in practice is meaningless if you can't do it when the lights come on, but it's a great start.

I agree with your initial statement, I just think he has quite a bit of improvement in that area to go.
 
Love it when guys call out players and prove they have no clue about anything.

That's terrible news about Witt, hopefully he can get his head straight enough to get the most out of his education at Miami.

He's getting reps with 2nd/3rd team .. looks pretty good but definitely needs a redshirt year
