Potential Portal DB’s (CB’s & S’s only)

It's because they actually evaluate film & don't just go off star ratings.

They also don't have to placate for local HS recruiting quotas. They just simply get the best kids that fit their system, which is why they have a low bust rate.

When you try to manufacture recruiting wins locally for the purpose of appeasement, you end up reaching for players who are vastly overrated.

Like you mentioned, “fitting their system” and NCST has had an actual system in place with Gibson there from 2019-2024. Relatively unique with a true 3-3-5.

Everyone they had recruited fit what they wanted and had been in the system multiple years.They knew what they wanted and adapted it overtime. Whereas we’re overhauling systems, changing coaches, and have 20 hands in the pot of evaluating DBs since 2020. This is what you get.

Doeren has always been an evaluator. Mid HC. But he can evaluate along with guys like Dave Clawson.

O’Connor and Brantley would have both been the best corner on our roster since at least Michael Jackson.

Having both on the same team with a Freshman All American coming back would be crazy in our standards. Also with Lucas still on the table and gotta think there’s still something there with Damari than we can get out of him.

Go after Jalen Catalon or Fred Perry for a second safety now please. God if we got one of those two and with these CBs we brought in that is completely flipping the room.

No matter what we need another safety (or 2 for depth) bad still. So Zion Branch or King Mack would both be good additions.

Landing Zachariah and Zion Branch have to be priority #2 behind QB remaining at this point.

O'Conner, Brantley, Karnley is a great CB portal haul in Spring. If/when we add an Xavier Lucas, I'm literally not sure anyone could have realistically hoped for anything more than what they got.

There's nothing there with Damari, he can't cover.

We have a good top 3 with O'Connor, Brantley & Romanas.

The backups are all a toss up, with one potential catalyst being Jaboree Antoine if they don't try to Redshirt him his FR season. Although it's likely he'll portal outta here next year if he doesn't play.

Since Damari didn't hit the portal I would assume they assured him he's starting somewhere,but if they also add Lucas I don't see how that's possible with all the DBs we just added.
