Post Game Plus/Minus

Plus: we had more TD passes (4) than total incompletions (3) across our 3 quarterbacks

Minus: we had to use 3 qb's

Honestly, I think UM was going to use 3 QB's regardless tonight, Morris' ankle injury just hastened Williams to come into the game sooner

Yeah, it's just Sav State but there's something to be said about getting guys back into the habit of making plays and gaining confidence. I think with Sandland, Coley and The Bus that might taken place tonight. These guys will be key components of the offense moving forward.

I just hope Morris is OK. I like Williams, but I don't buy for one second that this team is better with him somehow as the starter. I was hoping tonight he would rack up some numbers and develop some rythem with the WR's/TE's

Tonight wasn't even a sparring session but hitting a heavy-bag

Tonight was hitting a deflated weeble. Booker T, Central, or St. Thomas would have beaten Savannah State. We had our walk-ons out there trying NOT to score.

That was the worst opponent I've ever seen UM play. But I still enjoyed seeing the new guys get their sea legs.

I am with you. Next week is real important for Morris because USF is terrible and it would be beneficial to get the offense running well under him before ACC play.

Our walkons would have won.

I liked this quote from their coach:

"I know that I can change a program like this," Savannah State coach Earnest Wilson said. "We aspire to be big-time. A game like this helps us judge where we are. The only difference is depth. I know I have to go out and recruit and get some guys like they have."

They played most of the game, and we were running QB sneaks on 1st and 10 and taking intentional penalties on offense to try to avoid scoring.

Hey, who doesn't like watching a good young fighter on the way up score a few highlight reel/'Cot-****!!' knockouts? That was what took place tonight. Short of getting a few guys dinged up, I was entertained by what was taking place and seeing some guys continue to develop

PLUS:
1. Enter Sandland making his Shockey'esque debut. Count on him making plays all year from here out.
2. Coley catching the ball 12 times on 3 receptions. I think toward the end he finally got that mental bug out of his system when he ran up and caught that punt clean. Expect him to make big football plays from here on out.
3. Williams looked like a surgeon. He knows where to go with the football, and he's got a quick release. Big bang and it's out of his hand.
4. Al Gall gettin' his maul. Maul Gall is a mean dude. They stopped running behind him at the end of the game because they didn't want to score any more points. They were trying to run the clock out without scoring, and Gall was pushing stool in 10 yards down the field.
5. Gus Bus is our 2nd best RB, but fck him because he's from NYC, and those dudes can't play up there.
6. Coley is so much more athletic and fluid than our other WRs. He's the Duke of the WR corps.

MINUS:
1. Savannah State doesn't always tackle, but when they do, they will injure you. Seemed like every time one of our guys went to the ground they came up gimpy.

They had Tonya Harding in disguise at OLB.

Plus: We could have put 100 on them if we wanted. The second team got reps. Ryan Williams looked like a serviceable QB.

Minus: Injuries, dings, etc. Hopefully not that bad. Also, I don't think Duke looked that explosive this game. Not sure what's up with that. Hope that shot to the hip against Florida didn't jar him up too bad, he just didn't have that same explosiveness this game that I'm used to seeing from him.

That's because our guys lost focus and let up a lot of times at the end of plays. If you aren't paying attention and playing lights out that's when you get hurt.

I think Golden needs to address this. Finish every play.

I for one am glad they scored. Makes the Defense hungry for a shutout against USF next week and if Savannah State wouldn't have scored, then coley wouldn't have had that nice kickoff return touchdown

I love Coley and think he will be a STUD. hope that he has shaken some of the mentals and can just go out there an play from here on out

Williams is AT BEST a serviceable backup. he is physically limited, and we would not stand a chance vs good competition with him playing the whole game. i dont know where the **** some of these mofos on here get the idea that he would be as good or better than Morris. flat out retarded.

the deep ball is GONE with him back there (vs. good teams). the flats are dangerous since he throws a floater that makes J12 look like Tom Brady. the offensive game plan is limited to inside the hashes with lots of dink and dunk with him back there

Plus: Hunter Wells getting us 8 yards on a QB sneak.

Minus: AG gets his look from a black HC at Sav St.

Noticed their coach mocking Golden with the exact tie. What kind **** is that when your team would get mollywopped by Miramar optimist. 77 wasn't enough IMO.[/QUOTE

No I see it more as a sign of respect, after all - Golden is from Jersey, he understands that.
