Yeah he sucked and we couldn't have used him.

He would have made a terrible backcourt mate for McClinton. So glad we had Hurdle to play alongside Jack instead of Denis

Dennis was a good player, Hurdle was terrible and unable to dribble.

Hurdle was actually pretty solid his first year here. He regressed badly his second year.

That happened a lot under Haith

dont forget, hurdle didnt have a capable backup after rios fell apart (physically and mentally)

Good news on the transfer front

### Kansas State point guard Angel Rodriguez’s transfer to UM drew closer to reality Tuesday. “Miami is where he wants to go and they are interested,” said Art Alvarez, his coach with the Miami Tropics. “It looks very promising.”

Rodriguez, second-team All Big 12 last season, could not play in 2013-14 - unless he gets a waiver on the NCAA transfer rule because of family hardship - but would have two seasons of eligibility left. He is transferring to be closer to his mother and two brothers, who live in Puerto Rico.

Alvarez, who expects Rodriguez will have to sit out next season, compares his game with NBA guard J.J. Barea’s.

UM received his release from K-State today.

Meanwhile, UM is one of several schools pursuing physical 6-9 forward Tarik Black, who is graduating from Memphis and is eligible to play for another college this coming season.

If Rodriguez got a hardship, and Larkin came back, we'd have one of the best backcourts in the nation. If we also got Black, we're easily an NCAA team. Now, the only thing that seems like a good chance of happening now, is getting Rodriguez for 2014-15, but one can dream.

Alvarez is crazy. Him and J.J. do not have similar games

This is like comparing every white LB UM signs to Dan Morgan. He just took a successful hispanic PG and compared him

And all NFL white receivers are compared to Wes Welker. That said, I really want Black and Rodriguez.

Nova,

Thanks for negging me, I am well aware he is not playing this year (McClellan) because he would have to sit out.

Another name out there, Alabama's second leading scorer, shooting guard Trevor Lacey is transferring.

Im hesistant on too many transfers. Usually if they are that good the coach fights to keep them there. I understand Kadji worked out, as did TMJ. More often than not though loading up on transfers isnt the way to go.

As much as people rip him, I'd say Malcolm Grant worked out too. He wasn't a star but was solid. Don't forget Jack was a transfer too. Also Steve Rich back in the 90s, Tito Horford in the 80s.

We've done well with transfers. I hope we continue to go that route. I have my doubts on being consistent in attracting enough top players out of high school to compete at the top of the ACC. We're going to have do it different ways.

Yes

Would love McClellan and Rodriguez to come in as transfers. We would hurt this year in the backcourt with Larkin likely to leave but in the 2014-15 season we would have McClellan, Rodriguez, Burnett(will get a lot of PT this year), Reed (same as Burnett), and Henriquez. That would be a pretty stacked backcourt. The frontcourt on the other hand is in disaray outside of Tonye.

Very true. We have the JUCO coming in James Kelly so that helps but we need a 2013 PF/C. If we were taking 2 more kids, and the above happens, I would make sure they are PF or C. We need some big dudes to bang down low.

Agreed, wouldn't mind taking Etou now and the Canadian kid Mikle? At least the the Canadian kid is a 6'6-6'7 wing who can spell some minutes up front. That's all unless we can get Black who can spell a big for a year.

Get Tarik Black and that solves the problem for this year at the 4, but not the future.

I don't know how much more damage we can do other than transfers, how many kids are we actively recruiting and are available for 2013?
