Porter and Henderson update

We're gonna see if these two are looking to have actual careers at UM or just stop-overs and NFL internships at NFL U

Miami must lead the country in second and third day underclassmen the past decade or so...

Pretty sure AJL took the ACT this past Saturday, and that's why he didn't visit. I've yet to see anything credible assuring us he won't be here.

Praying to baby jesus that these two come back. Guys like them on the lines can be the difference between 9-3 and 11-1.

Hendo could have a monster 2013 and improve his draft stock tremendously. I have no idea at all what Porter was even thinking about considering going pro. The dude's played about 9 games here. I love his ability and think he's our first real difference maker at DT since Wilfork. But the dude needs to string a season together. He could dominate next year. Leave this year, and he might not even get drafted.

We need Henderson and Porter terribly. You can't just replace guys like that...in addition I would really like to have two guys like that playing on the LOS that would be essentially in a "contract year". If they work their tales off and stay healthy, both of them could go pretty high and net a nice deal in the first few rounds.

Thomas Finnie was going to be the 5th best corner the day that Artie Burns stepped on campus
Honestly I expected for Dortch and Crawford to pass him next year regardless. I just didn't think the kid was very good in coverage. I thought he excelled in run support in the sense that he was afraid to get physical there. I thought he played because the rest of the talent needed to get their feet wet first.

We're the only team that loses guys early to be 28th round picks.

Im praying that Porter stays and we can finally see him healthy and play a full season.

I think Finnie has/had a good chance of being passed by guys like Crawford, Dortch, and Hope. Said this in another thread last week, he looked pretty bad at the end of the year.

Having Finne on the team will only help with depth at the CB position.

With a good, clean season S.H. can help himself out immensely with his draft stock.

Been a while since we've had kids with this type of thinking, let's hope last year showed them.

Teams were starting to throw at Thomas Finnie at the end of the year. I would wait on AJL if I thought he was better than the two redshirt WRs. If he made it in, I would discuss playing time with one of other guys. A freshman class of AJL, Lockhart (I believe he got a medical red shirt) and Coley looks good on paper.

I watched the Lockhart video again. I’m still not sure how he did not get on the field. It looked like all we had to do was get him the ball, and something was going to happen. We started the year with no proven WRs. Going into fall camp, I thought he was a starter.

- AJL not making it sucks, but we have some talent at WR. Also, it looks like we now have the inside track on Coley, who, IMO, is just as talented.

- Porter returning is the single most important player for next year. More than any recruit or guy on this team. We NEED a full season out of him. Him and Pierre are a serviceable tandem at DT. Just hoping the kids behind them make some huge leaps this offseason.

Si.

I think we'll see a good amount of Artie Burns (at Corner) by the end of next season.

I like Finnie a lot but there's nothing that separates him from the pack of young talent we have and will have, other than extra experience. I thought we would see more Crawford last year than we did but I don't see why he couldn't fill Finnies role with ease.

I like our OL but it is definitely a lot better with Henderson in the mix. Getting both of those guys back would be huge (pun intended)
