Exactly. Of course Wong is only one spot, but good luck attracting a quality SG in the portal as long as Wong's decision is still an unknown.

L at the presser on Monday was pretty clear we are taking two from the portal with one slot going to be a 4 to replace Jordan. That leaves us with 2 more scholarships, 3 if Wong leaves. He didn't say if he would add another freshman or two but at this point all the good '23 kids are taken. I highly doubt we fill all 13 slots again given that we don't have the minutes to keep everyone happy.

I think he's a solid player but nothing more.

On the surface, he's had excellent years the last 2, and yet Syracuse hasn't even sniffed the NIT. Every time he faces a good big (e.g. Bacot, Filipowski), he gets outplayed. His Evan Miya numbers are mediocre. He kills spacing.

He'd be a great backup big, but as a starter, I don't think he's a good fit here.

The Amzil kid we’re after hard is like 6-9. Nwoko is coming in at 6’10.

Neither Edwards nor Sharp are good fits for the current system… and neither would be willing to back up Omier… so it shouldn’t be a surprise we’re not after them.

Omier is a rebounding monster who can also switch 1-5 and defend 99.999% of college centers in the post.

Of course L would love to have a 7 footer like Clingan come off the bench… but that’s not how the transfer portal works.

It's difficult to have a full roster of 13 guys, especially now with the portal. However, if we only roll with 10 or so dudes, that badly hurts depth, especially if injuries arise. We had a very successful scout team this year due to all of the guys at the end of the bench,
