Portal Targets

Any news on Hunter and Ike?
Graham Ike from Wyoming is an intriguing player. 6'9, 255.

Said back in late March that Arkansas, Arizona, Arizona State, Butler, Colorado, Georgetown, Gonzaga, Indiana, Iowa State, Kansas, Missouri, San Diego State, Seton Hall, Tennessee, Xavier, Washington State, and West Virginia, were some of the programs that had contacted him at that time. Nothing more recent.

I’d guess Hunter goes to Maryland or back to Michigan. Nothing I’ve read says we’ve even made contact.

Ike is a bit more of a mystery.

All in all, we’re not getting much press other than the names on page 1 of this thread. It’s a bit surprising given our tourney success, but the fact we’re late to the portal is a factor.
I can't see us being late to the portal being a factor like that. Last year, we made it to the elite 8 and still got Pack and Omier. What is more likely is everyone saw what we did and stepped up their bag game.

I'd recommend everyone reading the "Ruiz/NIL" thread on the Eye in the Sky Forum here. People been telling me all along UM NIL support is not just Mr. Ruiz. After this disclosure, sure hope they are right.

If what the New Times reports is even half true, there's cause for concern IMO.

There’s really been little portal chatter in general. Obviously NIL isn’t discussed openly, but we seemed to be defined more by who we missed on. Not a good sign. Early still though.

If he chooses Miami, this would almost guarantee that Wong is gone.

Hopefully Wong has made a decision because I feel like any uncertainty with him would hurt our chances bringing in prospective transfer guards.
Wong IMO will test his grade by declaring but not hiring an agent so he can return if he doesn't like what the teams say.

He did that last year. I think he is gone.
I hope he gets a good grade and gets drafted but selfishly I obviously want him to come back. My call is no higher than late 2nd but I say he is undrafted and joining McGusty in Europe.

I love Wong but straight up, we need a decision. He is holding up the process. If he is out, I will miss him. If he is in, let's add Jesse Edwards and let's get the natty. Either way, the team needs to know and move forward.

Don't we have like 4 spots open? What is Wong holding up, his one spot? Gotta lots of holes to fill with or without Wong...

Yeah I know but which quality 2 guard can we get if Wong returns or is not forthcoming with his decision? There is an opportunity to get one now, but this kid is down to a final four, and he is not committing to anywhere he can't start. We could end up losing Wong and this kid and it would be a mini disaster. He needs to decide. My preference is Wong returns.
