100%. As great as Cam was for us he did not impact the recruiting one bit. He signed late, so no there was no one to sign to play with him, except maybe Sam Brown, and as a one and done, no one in this high school class was going to play with him.

Our quarterback situation in flux almost like it was a year ago before Cam.

I hope this situation does not last as long as it took for Cam. He was an odd case so hopefully the quarterback question is answered in a week or so, maybe two weeks? Maybe three?

Having an excellent quarterback next year, returning in 2026 is one of the keys to Miami recruiting.

Sounds like a great fit but twin sister plays soccer at Oregon and he's from Cali...don't see him coming here

Did not look the part v. Army last week. Granted one game does not tell the story. I would guess not much interest from us.

I watch mahomes play and see sugar sprinkles and everyone I know say he sweet like his brother, but he a baller.. if this kid can be close I would take that- big pause

Also, Mensah only played one game against decent competition (Oklahoma) and had a lousy game. He compiled his stats against lesser competition.

These statements are not mutually exclusive. If he’s that good, he’ll be gone in two years.

Ok. And if he’s isn’t that good he’ll be recruited over. Regardless, whoever we bring in is more than likely a 1-2 year player here in either scenario.

1. He’s either really good and stays three years (nobody would have a problem with this if he’s good) or;

2. He’s not very good and gets pushed back to the portal or;

3. He is very good and leaves early for the draft

You’re saying the same thing I am, except it sounds like you want Mensah. I’m unsure and would prefer we get someone better, if a better option presents himself. Sound right to you?

cici- 2 years
Cooper-2 years
Rodriguez - 1 game then hurt
Mccoy- almost 1 year
Bell- multiple games while Rivers was out plus almost 50% when back with McCoy

If that’s the case then I’ve misread your posts. I’d probably go Mateer, Moss, Mensah in that order at this moment. I do think Mensah is better than names like Arnold being thrown around and not being one and done does prop him up a bit because we can’t live and die by the QB portal every year. Two years of good consistent QB play would go a long way for the program IMO and bridge the Nickel/Coleman gap, as well as help recruiting. We’re missing on skill players IMO because of the QB situation. If Mensah came in with a good season next year we can sell another year of him as starter to skill players.
 
have we offered any qbs in the portal yet? it seems mario's philosophy is to attack the line of scrimmage initially in the offers that have been announced so far.
