I expected 1 out of the 2 DBs. 2 was asking too much for even a guy who coached them in HS and also coached TC at the Pee Wee level since age 7. This defensive staff is a joke outside of Kul but let’s continue to defend a crew a tad below mediocrity.

I understand Rick's logic in hiring Rumph.

It is the smart play for a big SEC school.

When they were chasing Sony, Richt saw that AH was going to be pumping out LOTS of talented kids. He had a good relationship with his fellow Cane alum Rumph. So when he got to UM, it was a smart play based on how things work for big time SEC programs.

The problem is, Miami isn't like those programs. It is NOT the right play, EVER, at UM to hire a highschool coach from the area. First of all, it never helps bc the critical bagman element is not there. Secondly, it causes resentment amongst other area coaches. And thirdly, none of those guys can actual coach the game of football.

When DUmph was hired, many of us were besides ourselves bc it NEVER WORKS HERE.

Do you want to fire every coach that doesn't sign a 5* recruit?

That would be everyone not named Thomas Brown.
Good point... should Thomas Brown be hired as the new HC and fire everybody else? How many banners do we need?

Obviously, we signed a great class and we are overreacting to some whiffs at positions of need. However, we obviously have a higher opinion of Kul and Rumph than a high percentage of recruits do. We won’t win a natty without quality depth, especially on the DL, and without more players staying home to represent the 305. Hard to watch 2 train wreck programs, UF and FSU, beat us out for recruits we wanted.

This.. Great post and spot on!

So only 46.5% of the board is ignorant.

I thought the percentage would be much higher.

Why isn’t Banda or Diaz on the hot seat?

I seriously can’t understand why nobody holds them accountable. Especially the DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR.

Banda has been the only good recruiter on defense.

Rumph's been letting me down since Chafie Fields smoked him, why quit now

While it is an excellent reference, let's not forget that it was defensive genius Greg Schiano who put Ed Reed up near the line of scrimmage.

Recruiting is 50% of the job in college football, he’s failed at recruiting. Even worse, he’s failed at recruiting layups. On top of his horrific recruiting, our DBs can’t turn around to save their lives and we get routinely torched by three star receivers.

Will Richt fire him? I don’t think so. Should he? Absolutely. This is part of the reason Richt failed at UGA, the savageness just isn’t there. Cut the dead weight and move on.

Agreed but at least Schiano doesn’t get torched by Wisky’s true Fr. WR. He made Wisky’s QB look like well Wisky’s QB. We made him look like Nick Foles..
