Victory formation?Heard they actually took a knee to end the meeting
It was a DB interventionDBs weren't invited.
Wtf dad?I asked my son after the Cal game if he thought that this team was coming together and these last two weeks and two wins are a part of that process? He never answered me, so I’ll answer myself.F**king A it is. And, to be proactive enough to call the Players Only meeting, before a loss, when the S**t hits the fan, and before a big conference road game, speaks volumes as to where this team and its leadership has come. IMO, building a team and program are big strides but also baby steps, so as not to get too far over your skis. We have exhibited both those properties this season. LFG, go Canes#CANESNATIONLIFER
They think players are robots, I would hate if an athlete had no outside hobbies to clear their mindnot one person here should ever criticize restrepo. not one. he has exemplified loyalty, hard work, resiliency, skill, dedication and every other positive attribute you can ask of a football player and person. who the **** cares if he plays golf during an off week.
second, the following was probably said at the players only meeting. we are playing at 50% of our potential. wake the **** up. if we play near 90%, there is no game we can't win.
I said over the summer this team will be playing it's best ball the 2nd half of the season.I believe Miami is in line for a big leap in the second half of the season for several reasons. I really believe we could be witnessing something special, like Washington in 2023 but with a better ending.
Reasons why Miami improves.
1. Spring transfers should now be comfortable in the system, as well as have better chemistry with their teammates, as a result be more productive down the stretch. Barrow stated in his interview after the Cal game that his increased production on the field is because he is now more comfortable in the system. Remember these guys got to Miami in the summer and have only been with the team for about 4 months.
Offense spring transfers (2 starters)
Damien Martinez (Enrolled later than others due to finishing online classes)
Sam Brown
Defense spring transfers(3 starters and 1 key rotational player)
Tyler Baron
Simeon Barrow (Missed time early with the “hold out)
D'Yoni Hill (Missed a lot of time during fall camp with an injury)
Jaylin Alderman
2. True freshman development. It’s usually the 2nd half of the season when true freshman, who contribute early, take the next step in their game. Look no further than Bain or Fletcher in 2023 as examples.
Freshman who could take the next step
Justin Scott
Elija Lofton (Mid season Freshman All-American)
Jordan Lyle (Already 2nd leading rusher)
OJ Frederique (Mid season Freshman All-American)
3. Overall team health. Getting Bain, Cook, and Alston all health at the same time is going to take the defensive line to the next level, while Rivers will bolster the offensive line.
4. The development of Isiah Horton. He is becoming more and more confident with every game he plays. If he continues developing he could be a real problem in the second half of the season.
5. Finally, overall team leadership. There are mature leaders at each position group on this team. This is not a group of guys that will fold, evident by how they fought back and found a way to win the last 2 games in addition to the players only meeting.
I truly believe this team is on the right track and could be really good down the stretch.
Next time read your text messagesWtf dad?
Best post in the thread. Doing stupid stuff when you’re down (losing) in the fourth quarter is ignorance. If we’re up big, spin the ball after a touchdown, talk ish to a defensive player when we make them look bad. I don’t care as long as we are up big and it’s late in the game.Honestly, I hope a point of matter in the meeting was cleaning up undisciplined, stupid penalties. We had two games in a row where such things could've ended in the team losing the game.
Yes, play with passion. Yes, play with aggression.
But don't do stupid stuff...like kicking a guy in front of a referee. Especially in a crucial situation.
Getting more production out of Alderman and Cook would definitely help. Also im hoping we see more from Alston in the second half of the season. With Bain back he should eat more.I believe Miami is in line for a big leap in the second half of the season for several reasons. Same thoughts.Players only meeting whole 6-0....love it
Your math ain’t mathing.Personally, I think we either run the table or lose 2-3 games. Louisville is the best team left on our regular season schedule. If we win next week, we run the table. If we lose it will it shows the last two games are who we are and we will have close games the rest of the way with us dropping at least one more.
