Who blew the 2 long runs against the gator? Someone took the wrong gap.....

Guidry confirmed it was "the linebacker" (i.e., Wes). Some insiders on CIS are saying Guidry was covering for Davis, and the simple fact the formation was a bad one for that situation.

Not ready to crown Moten. The good news is there's not a team on our schedule who will challenge our DTs significantly more than UF did. But that's not saying much. UF had a weak OL and we're not really playing anyone with a strong OL. The bad news is when we get to the playoffs, he's going to be facing a major upgrade in talent. Have to hope going up against our OL continues to make him better and prepared for that challenge.

Good problem to have.

Jaden Harris and Markeith (S)
OJ Frédérique, Richards, and Brown (CB)
Wes (LB)
Horton (WR)
Lyle (RB)

What are you talking about?
Horton is a guy that I'm watching and thinking if he can make a few more plays he's an NFL guy for real. Would have loved for him to catch that pass that Cam threw behind him or the ball to him in the endzone.

Hopefully with more opportunities he'll start making some of those bigger plays that X makes. But Horton is close and it's beautiful to see.

Those lines at Oregon wasn’t filled with 5stars..I always believed MC could build and develop..it’s the on field growth that was always the ?

When you have guys like Bain, Mesidor, Barron, Kiko, Meesh, etc, other guys tend to play better in their presence. I think you are seeing that.

Guys like James Lewis and Markese Fitzgerald shined around Ed Reed. Guys like Mo Sykes made huge plays in the presence of Sean Taylor and Antrel Rolle.

Development is important no doubt, but the more stars you can surround your role players with, the better they will be.
Facts!!!!

At the presser Guidry said that Wes was supposed to be blitzing off the edge, outside of the TE. Jaden Harris was lined up over the TE because he was in man coverage.

It was miscommunication before the play started.

I’d even argue the older guys have developed. Porter was much maligned his first year. Then last year he became lockdown. X has gotten better every year. Jacolby too. Jalen rivers has improved every year. Arroyo is a dude and looks poised to break out.

My first read on it was it would've been the LBs responsibility to have contain there before I knew Guidry said that. Would be kind of stupid for a coach to throw someone under a bus to lift someone else up too

Several non-linemen were listed in the post: Markeith Williams, Jaden Harris, and Chase Smith. I'll include a few more: Wes Bissainthe, Jacolby George, Isaiah Horton, OJ Frederique, DP Jr, Damari Brown.

Now drink some kool aid and settle down.
There’s some kids that might turn out to be ballers, for sure. But one win doesn’t erase the stench of 12-13 for me.

QB development has been awful (starter is a transfer). Most of the highly rated RBs we recruited were busts. We now have a transfer starting at that position. We had to bring in Ajay Allen and Henry Parrish last year. Our bench is filled with 4/5 star WRs like ray ray and Jojo, but Sam brown transfers in and takes a job.

I can perform the same exercise on the defensive side of the ball.

Mario can recruit and coach up the OL. TBD in a lot of other areas

Mesidor, Barron, kiko & meesh were developed elsewhere. Only Bain was developed here of those you listed.

I think we’re finally getting a lot of these 3 and low 4 star guys developed because we no longer need to rely on them to come in and play right away. A lot of really highly rated guys are plug and play types but for a lot of the lower rated guys, they need some seasoning. They may need to bulk up or trim down, they may need to improve stamina. ****, they may need to learn basic football techniques because they may never have gotten good coaching before and were just getting by on talent. We have guys who really didn’t see the field for their first year or two and could just focus on improvement rather than game prepping every week. How many years would a guy like Moten gotten thrown into the fire too early under one of our old coaches? Mostly because we had no depth and were forced to play guys who weren’t ready yet. Now we actually have competent role players.
