It's great to see some of these guys who have been under the radar the last couple years come into their own.

Ahmad Moten - he was the 135th ranked DL in the 22 class. Has looked good the last couple of springs and really stepped up in this game. Looked like the 1T we need to eat up space in the middle.

Anthony Campbell - Not rated coming out of high school. 3* transfer from Louisiana-Monroe. Took a year of development, but played well in his snaps against Florida. Was there with Baron on the Powell INT.

Jaden Harris - 3* and 38th rated CB in 22 class. Had size and athleticism, but was moved to safety. Developed last year behind Kam and really had a breakout game against Florida.

Markeith Williams - lower 4* that was very undersized coming out of high school. Still looks frail but is a good deep player and showed it on the long 3rd down pass that he mirrored the receiver on the sideline and made the play. He still needs to add size/strength to be a reliable tackler IMO, but would definitely use him in 3rd and long packages because I feel he's near elite in his coverage skills as a safety.

Chase Smith - lower 4* athlete in 2021 class. He has been set back by injuries, but looked good in his snaps for Kiko on Saturday. He was one of my favorites in the 21 class, hope he continues to make plays when given a chance.

Anez Cooper - great eval - 84 grade and the 154th ranked OT in the 22 class. He's been good since his first year, but looked the best I've seen on Saturday.

Ryan Rodriguez - he surprised everyone being the starter at LG (at least it wasn't Lou) He has definitely improved, but is more of a Center than a Guard and struggled at times. May get the job next year after Carpenter graduates.

Overall I can see all the work the staff and the team have put in. I think they have weeded out a lot of the weaker talent. Mario practices hard and we saw some injuries the first couple years. I think that it strengthens players over time that put the work in. Wait til we stack these high 4 & 5 star players and we will be along side the Georgia's and Alabama's consistently making it to the playoffs and challenging for titles.

I was all over Moten (PAUSE) all offseason regarding how this was a do or die year for him and he answered the bell on Saturday. He was very active. Great job by him. If Josh Horton can follow suit we are in great shape at DT with Justin Scott being our 5th guy off the bench. Not forcing him into the 2 deep as a TF (unless earned of course) is absolutely best case scenario. That means Moten and Horton both are ballin out.

When you have guys like Bain, Mesidor, Barron, Kiko, Meesh, etc, other guys tend to play better in their presence. I think you are seeing that.

Guys like James Lewis and Markese Fitzgerald shined around Ed Reed. Guys like Mo Sykes made huge plays in the presence of Sean Taylor and Antrel Rolle.

Development is important no doubt, but the more stars you can surround your role players with, the better they will be.

I like that the under the radar players were taking now have traits and frames that have great upside potential. No more undersized non twitchy players.

On top of that you need to do your homework and find players with work ethic that live and breathe football. There's a lot of talented lazy athletes that can be cancerous for a program.

Bissainthe also remade his body. I was beginning to doubt he would fill his frame out.

Yes, but I still see some misreads by him. Some were no big deal cause someone else was there to clean it up, but that 70 yard run was on him. He went underneath the tackle even though he was the edge defender on that blitz. This same counter play has been killing us since UNC used it and ran for 5000 yards on us. Everyone has been using it on us since, because it’s been working. Guaranteed we see that counter in every game until we prove we can stop it!

Who blew the 2 long runs against the gator? Someone took the wrong gap.....

right but everyone on this list made mistakes. wes is on a positive trajectory like everyone listed above.

I still have questions about development at all position groups outside of OL and DL

WRs look great, LBs look great, TEs look great, secondary looks much improved one game in (thank you Chevis). The only area I’d even have a question at this point is QB but not enough sample size.

Theres finally leadership on the roster too. Mario understands that character evaluation is just as important as talent evaluation. Ward, bain, Powell, rivers, coop, X, Wes, kiko, etc.. we got some alphas and looked unfazed from the first snap of the game

I thought Moten did well last year early on then his PT decreased. Idk if he was in the doghouse or injured. Good to see him play well Saturday.

Several non-linemen were listed in the post: Markeith Williams, Jaden Harris, and Chase Smith. I'll include a few more: Wes Bissainthe, Jacolby George, Isaiah Horton, OJ Frederique, DP Jr, Damari Brown.

Now drink some kool aid and settle down.
