wow. Brings back memories of moving my kids into Hecht... Those hurricane shutters created a total blackout when closed.

Loft was a must. That was the room after the loft was taken down. It looked pretty cool for its time with all the stuff done to itz
Enabled me to sleep until 4pm on a weekend, although unfortunately I missed breakfast and lunch. Could only use the Cane card once that day.wow. Brings back memories of moving my kids into Hecht... Those hurricane shutters created a total blackout when closed.
4 years in Pentland too. ‘86-‘91
Stanford and Mahoney (7th floor ofc) for me.
2007 and 2008
Did not know that....****.For those who know...
7th floor had higher ceilings. Better for building lofts.
I lived on the 7th for a year before I graduated undergrad.

They probably made up the difference on the second floor, where I was with the rest of the steerage.
This just reminded me that in Mahoney we would unbolt the mirror from the wall and put it on top of two chairs for a beer-pong table lmaoYeah, when I was on the 7th floor, I built a loft that was so tall that I didn't have to duck when I put my desk underneath.
And I apologize in advance, I realize the furniture in the Towers was bolted in place, but you could move the stuff around in Mahoney-Pearson-Eaton (starting with the late-1980s renovations).
Yeah, 4 yrs in Pentland and then 1 year (Fall '90/Spring '91) in the apartment area.Seems like that is 5 years...
I, too, started in 1986. Eaton.
Was supposed to be in Hecht (then called Honors). Got my room assignment, and I swear to God, this is what it said:
"Honors Residential College at Eaton Hall".
My roommate and I (friends since middle school) freaked the **** out because Eaton was a ****hole when we had visited the campus in 1985.
Turns out they were still finishing the renovations in August 1986. I was there when they put our cable box in during the first week of classes.
Brand new furniture. Ancient (but effective) air conditioners. Weird closet doors. Awesome suite bathrooms.
In Mahoney, we just left the desks where they were, beds up, put a couch under where one bed was, and the TV/refridge under the other.
It was a pain in the *** getting a co-ed up there at "standard" height (except, of course, for Linda from NY...she was an experienced "loft climber").
Don't know how you worked it.
the old rat was the rat. the new one sucksIt’s gonna make me sound old, but these kids don’t know how good they have it. Although to me, sometimes the old Rat was heaven.
I got hammered there a couple times before class....It’s gonna make me sound old, but these kids don’t know how good they have it. Although to me, sometimes the old Rat was heaven.
New one is sterile af lolthe old rat was the rat. the new one sucks
My first room was a very air conditioned dorm in Mahoney and it dripped all over me.My first dorm at the U was a non air conditioned room in Mahoney. Also I was at the opening of the rat. Yea I’m old. But my memories keep me young
Had a fan on a chair I’ve had a good run but I’d take those days back in a heart beat.My first room was a very air conditioned dorm in Mahoney and it dripped all over me.
I love how the air conditioners in those dorms were one temp - freezing your *** off or hot as **** (meaning off). at least Mahoney Pearson had the nice windows though compared to the towers single window cell block styleMy first room was a very air conditioned dorm in Mahoney and it dripped all over me.
Rumor is that’s not the only thing the 7th floor was good for….For those who know...
