Peter, DMoney, Geo, Lu, DP . . . 2017 Recruiting Finish

I'm worried we're going to ***** up CB recruiting again. 2017 was supposed to be the year. Now 2018 is supposed to be the year and that group could very well fall apart. You can't keep pointing to next year.

I also don't buy the "we need to win first" mantra. Good sales people (which is what recruiting is) are able to sell kids on the future.

CB recruiting should never be a problem in So Florida. In fact, you should never have to point to "next year" with CBs because there are virtually always good ones available.

You have good reason to worry about CB recruiting. It's a dumpster fire right now compared to what an elite recruiter would be doing with the position at the University of Miami. God bless Deejay and Trajan.

I would monitor Darrian Felix considering how Oregon is falling apart, it's between him and the Etienne kid that we offered that is taking a spot in Oregon class. I'm very high on Felix potential.

I would also monitor Hillery, he's still taking visits and staff is making hard push at guys like Slaton and Telfort.

Wasn't too happy with Dysktra performance at paradise. Was rumors he's flirting with Iowa state but rumors are rumors.

Not happy with our WR class. We need to get some more explosiveness. I like Dingle but he's more of a possession type and I think little Njoku will need some time(like his jump ball ability though)

Really would like for us to add another Lb in the class.

Not sure what is going to happen at corner at this point. Edwards is shaky right now and Brini might be coming but I don't have either pegged as true corners. Think they will be boundary type and play some safety here and there.

Brini is a corner with S size... he has been a CB his whole football life ...he will be a faster Richard Sherman

It's like you all expect us to be elite in recruiting all of a sudden after 5 games...Jesus Christ guys. Everyone wants to see how we respond and how we finish this season. No doubt our new staff can develop talent but it's not like we will all of a sudden be pulling elite guys. Give it time.

I agree wholeheartedly! Anyone that says this staffs recruiting equal to the previous staff just going out of their way to be negative because a few top SoFl players defecting. Used to be a whole lot. Jeudy was never coming to Miami even before the staff got here. Outside of Harley who's left at WR in SoFl for 2017? OOS options Holloman and Smith, we came in behind the 8 ball with those two. At DB we have Deejay, Gibson, Edwards and Bandy- with Hendersons possible return, Carter and Brini. Even with the four we have committed that's a **** top notch haul. We ain't seen such in a many years. They on top of 2018 WR's, Pope always showed love for Bama. I have no doubt the 2018 DB class will be all elites. We gotta stop whining that we don't and can't get a couple that will "always" go elsewhere. Our current recruiting pace will see us climb back, especially if we a lock up Telfort and Slaton, got Brown.

I can't stand our fan base sometimes. Bunch of whiny babies who expect us to go undefeated every year and get every single elite recruit even when Golden was here they expected that. Have to be realistic, we dropped off the face of college football but we are coming back. Will it happen overnight like every other fan here thinks? Absolutely not. We have the staff now to develop the talent we have on our roster and will continue to recruit better and locally. We lost to FSU and it wasn't pretty offensively but time to move on. Finish strong unlike recent years and lets see if game plans change and adjust after we have been given a gut check and punched in the mouth.

Our success will be tied to the development of the OL. WE already see the results on defense.

Outside of the kids looking for cash, it simply comes to down to winning. I think if we beat UNC and Tech, then this class will come together nicely. We'll be nationally relevant late in the year (for the first that these kids could remember) and a relative lock to be in the ACCCG.

He wants to play CB but feels that Banda wants him to play safety.

That's a real easy fix - try him out of corner. If he fails, he'll know and boom, problem solved. This type of fear of changing position nonsense is taken too far as an excuse. The good programs move kids around at will.

I think we'll finish with:
Amari Carter, Telfort, Brini, Slaton & Wilder...

I know Pete said he doesn't think Wilder will be in this class, but Wilder will be announcing his commitment in November & it will be us.
That would be an odd situation where he commits to us & we just plain say no, especially considering Breon Dixon & Tyler Taylor probably aren't coming here.

As far as RB's, I think if Etienne goes to Oregon then we get Felix & I think we have a long shot with Mac, but he seems to be pretty heavy leaning towards staying home in Maryland, which I have no problem with... If he picks Bama he can go f*ck himself.

At WR, nobody wants Holloman in this class more than me, but I think he'll end up with Tennessee...
And for Devonta Smith, he's got that Bama syndrome, but they're in line to get at least 3 or 4 more WR's, which would mean they would have 7 in one class, all of them 4/5-stars.

Even for a program like Bama that's not happening, so we might end up snagging Smith just based on him seeing Bama have 5 to 6 WR's already committed by January.

Reasonable and realistic prediction. I like Wilder because he has dogg and speed, **** the ideal size BS. Carter and Brini to current commits would be a DB haul all teams would be very satisfied with. If we can get Telfort and Slaton to combine with Donaldson, Hillery and Brown, that would be a Grade A haul. Smith would be a desperate need for speed at WR. Grab a SoFl speedster (Harley or?) for those slot routes. Turn focus to to 2018 and secure Pope(?), X. Williams, Daqurius Wiggins and (you pick it speedster).

We in good shape. We just got to stop thinking everybody else's class is so far superior to ours. To rest cardiac level concerns, consider this again, fsu has had the top and top 5 classes for the last 6 recruiting classes, yet are no better than we are. We getting there, but it takes multiple classes.

Amari is a good S, who fits the Jenkins' mold. I'd like to see him added to the roster.

Felix is a solid player, but falls below my expectations for Richt, quite honestly. Having every RB returning next year may be impacting our RB recruiting.

I like Hillery's potential, but would much prefer either Slaton or Telfort.

Dykstra has never been a take for me.

Our WR recruiting is a real concern. We need a slot WR badly. Berrios is a kid that's easy to root for, but is simply not good enough to be a starting player here. Sam Bruce is gone, so we need a genuine stud WR recruit to come in next year.

Evidence Njoku is not a take for me. Dingle is a take, but he's probably the only one we have right now.

Steed and Jennings are a nice duo at LB, but we need another one. A MLB type who can run. Mike Smith is simply not good enough to be a player who plays a lot here.

This is currently a class full of solid kids, most all of them are good enough to be here, so it's solid, but the true difference makers are lacking a bit. This looks to be a bit more of a slow burn than I expected in the beginning, and with some of the class setups, if we do not land a couple more serious, blue chip immediate helper type kids, we probably will see a gradual upward movement rather than a big uptick.

Bama is a machine

I dont think kids will wait for unc and vt games if they like our defense which everyone loves they will come. If michigan can hit the ground running y not us....hate excuses already get it done. I dont mind losing offensive firepower because we can build a monster defense that will attract offensive ayers that want to play with those same guys. Who wouldnt want togo up against sean taylor in practice? Well maybe thats a bad idea i wouldnt want to get hit by him
