Most have Oladele as a DE, I think it's a 50/50 shot he moves inside with that huge frame...And I know we are high up on Briggs list.

Are you hearing anything on the following?

Chatman (Is Ivins correct we are now not interested?)
J.Davis (you felt strongly a couple months back he'd be in this class...Any news?)
Trout
Sandidge

Or any other names...

Thanks in advance.

JUCO is likely but I've heard they aren't in a rush to pursue one right now. They will evaluate JUCO throughout the season.

I'm trying to get in touch with Michael Thompson, Jr., but I've heard that Miami is legitimately in the picture there. Kool is working.

That would be a huge get for Kool.

Rankings be **** silvera and Briggs is an great dt class. Now if you add someone out of this group of 3( Trevor trout, Tyler Friday or michael Thompson) that would be a ridiculous dt class.

If we get legit play from at least 3 of the 4 returning dts (fines, bethel, Martin, ford), then we can get away with just taking 3 total dts. Otherwise, no need to gamble with this critical and hard to fill position: take 3 plus a 4th juco.

Oladele is not moving inside. Nothing about his frame says DT. Kid is a DE all the way.

Sandidge is a wayyyyyyyyyy longshot. Not a lot of dialogue, and he's mentioning essentially everyone else in his Top 11 except Miami. I'd be 1000% shocked if this kid even has Miami in his list of final (say a Top 5 or Top 3) schools.

Thompson is the one to keep an eye on. I'm sure people will attack me on this, but I don't think Kool is an elite recruiter. He's an elite teacher. And his track record is what does the recruiting for him. But with someone like Thompson, his ties to the area will help. I just don't see him going to NC and pulling Sandidge, especially with what seems like somewhat lacking interest.

Thompson is in play. Trout is in play. I'd be pretty surprised if Miami gets close with any other OOS DTs.

You're underestimating his recruiting skills. He brought in Johnson from Cali, Thomas from St. Louis and he was a big part of getting Brevin to commit despite playing tight end. I just did some research and he received credit for Hightower, Art, Hunter, Rousseau, Garvin, Ford, Feagles, Joe Jackson. He did all of that while being at Miami for only 1.5 years. Add that with his strong coaching skills, he can get anyone he wants. He just not as flashy or outspoken (like Dugans) as other recruiters. You don't get promoted in college football to assistant head coach just for his DL coaching skills. Richt is rewarding him for his recruiting skills as well.

I believe this is a situation where we have to wait and see. Briggs and or one of the Missouri boys would be an excellent DL class. The Dline will be what really makes this class great. If Ford and Bethel turn out to be studs then a good 2018 DL class will seal the deal.

Our Canes have one commit and that's Nasty Nesta, then it looking like Coach Kul is in the driving seat with Briggs, SO of course we need a #3 for this Storm18' bunch!! If Miami goes JUCO, I hope he's a top recruit.. They're a lot of talented HS prospects on the radar, so if we go JUCO it has to be a really good, someone who can come in and possibly start day 1..

we need 3 to 4 DTs unless some of the Juniors are coming back. This position and OL is my biggest concerns in this class
