Pete, Choc Gray?

Who is writing Cager off?

He will be the #2 guy next year. Elite talent.

Everybody's ready to write Cager off, but still think this guy's got a shot? I'd be shocked if he ever saw meaningful minutes at any position.

Lol u cant make this up.....lets see by next season how many people say he hasnt fully recovered or the injury changed him when hes been the same since he signed

Dude, Miami had Rayshawn Scott, Stacey Coley and Herb Waters at WR in 2015.

On what planet would true Freshman Lawrence Cager's first season be judged on his statistical performance?

I seriously get the feeling people on this board don't even realize the kid tore his ACL last spring.

If Ahmon Richards and Lawrence Cager are your top two WR's and are both healthy, you have nothing to complain about. That is a BCS playoff capable WR corp.

Yes, I would prefer Richards and Juedy but

5 games. 17 targets

To be fair, Cager was used as a dummy wide out a lot his freshman season. He got himself open a lot in the redzone on slants and post routes - unfortunately he was the 4th option on most of those plays.

I'm a big fan of Cager. Pending further injury, I think he has a chance to make a big impact next year as the #2 behind AR.

I want Choc at WR, but that's just me.

He's a **** of an athlete who makes magic happen with the ball in his hand. It'd be nice if we could figure out how to utilize that athleticism.

Unfortunately, he doesn't have any natural ability as a running back to go with his natural athleticism -- runs high, doesn't get behind his pads, fumbles. So let's teach him how to run routes instead.

Richt is not going to spread it around to 5 different WR. The top two WR's on the team are going to see 80% of the WR targets.

Stacey Coley and Ahmon Richards ate up most of the targets because they are ELITE f**king players. Coley will be a #1 WR somewhere in the NFL if he can stay healthy. He is a better physical talent than Allen Hurns.

Just because Dayall Harris didn't get many targets this year does not mean he is not a player.

Andre Johnson did nothing in his first year at Miami because he was behind Wayne and Moss. Does that mean he could not play?

I agree with this! Why does Dayall Harris suck in everyone's eyes already? Because he didn't come in and beat out Stacey Coley, Richards and Njoku for targets? Hilarious.

He's fumbled at least twice in his ~30 carries at Miami. You like that statistic?

Cager played plenty. We had three guys in front of him that were NFL types in Scott, Waters and Coley. This barely touch the field stuff just isn't true.

5 games. 17 targets

He played 11 games.

Not as WR

You can go through the highlights on youtube and see him lined up at WR in more than five games.

You said 11. He was targeted as WR in 5, 17 times. He lined up at WR in 8. He did not play WR in 11

I think the kid will be good, but then again after a year I thought Asante Cleveland was going to do good things for Miami.

That's my point. You want to give the fumbler the ball? Like if it's thrown first it will be stickier?

Don't running backs by virtue of what they're asked to do fumble more than wide receivers?

But you're right. We should abandon his virtues because he's fumbled a couple of times. People don't get better at things.

It's so funny to me how quickly people on this board turn on players. Everyone was loving Cager last year because he was all about the U on social media and talking junk. The guy hurts himself in preseason and now he's a JAG? People on this board need to get a grip. It's frustrating listening to people that have no clue what they are talking about rip our players.

I'm with you. He is a good possession guy. We will benefit from having him back next year.

dude Cager is NOT elite. Calvin Ridley is elite. Ahmmon Richards is elite. cager could barely touch the field. he is praised for a catch he made in a blow out to UNC. stop. let him prove himself.

Dude has less than 100 yards in his entire career and people wanna throw out the word elite. It's ridiculous.

No no, you've convinced me. There's no reason that 2 different coaching staffs haven't put that kid on the field. And I'm sure it never occurred to either of them to try him at a different position. We only had 3 RBs with game experience this season, how could they possibly afford to try him at something else. It's not like there were any glaring weaknesses on ST or anything.

Gray was injured this year.

And before that? He's had 2x as long as Cager to prove himself and hasn't, and not because we're so loaded with talent. I don't know what the issue is, but it really looks like there is one.

Look, if he can contribute or god help me be a star I'll be beyond happy. ****, I'll gladly change my name to something with cuck in it if Gray ends up being a star, I just don't think it's very likely. Whereas it is quite likely that Cager contributes.

I know it was against 2 and 3rd string players, but this guy looked incredible with the ball in his hands. I hope we can find a way to get him going!
