Patrick Surtain jr.

Call it a failure now and get it out of your system, to avoid the emotional meltdown later.

We’re not sitting at the adult table. You have to listen to what people say. We didn’t listen to Jobe, he gave off all the signals. This guy isn’t even wavering - he’s said we’re not in the ballpark. Let’s listen this time instead of projecting. Unless someone can show me differently.

Now, we don’t give up we keep recruiting him. But keep this in mind.

I'll keep in mind that some of you guys are bent on trying to keep expectations down. Sign him, or you failed. Too much in our favor to botch this or Campbell.

Cuck is a different story completely from this guy, so I don't know what his situation has to do with it.

So if you dont sign a player who really never had any real interest in your program, it's a failure? Sound logic.

Why did he come to two games and have his parents go with him if he's not interested? Why's he coming here on an OV if he's not interested? Why did he say he's interested if he's not interested?

You guys need to quit with this false narrative that he's never had any interest or that trying to convince him to come here is some sort of Herculean task?

Recruiting is sales. I don't want to hear about you clowns surrendering and trying to convince the rest of us that we shouldn't be able to sign a kid who played football for our CB coach, whose dad is friends with our CB coach, and who lives down the street from campus all his life. If his interest was minimal under the prior failure of a staff, we've had 2 years to convince him why he should come here.

Has there been an official date set for the AH 4 to come on OV? Would like to have them visit on the final weekend

He hasnt set a ov and he didnt say he was taking one to miami. According to surtain most recent interview miami wont be one of his ovs but maybe the staff can get him to change that.

December 9th. And it was a few days after the staff had visited him and he didn't mention miami as one of his top schools.

Show me the recent quote where he said wasn't OV'ing with UM. So far, all I've seen is everyone saying the AH guys will visit together on at the end of January.

Even though I thinkl Surtain will probably sign with LSU, I'm liking how the staff is in it for the big fish. Hopefully we can sign Asante, and Campbell for the DB class, that would be great.

I’ve never understood this mindset.

This whole “we’re at the table” moral victory BS is fine for a little while I guess. But quickly turns into being a cuck.

You win or you lose. That’s it.

We can finish a close second place for 10 5-star recruits. But that still means we get none.

Last year with Jerry Jeudy. We were close. He was even so nice as to give our coaches a shout out in his commitment tweet. So tell me, how many catches did he have for Miami this year?

No such thing as moral victories on local recruits. Either you sign them, or you failed. That “at the table” and “we fought hard” **** is meaningless when it comes to local guys.
It’s mostly bull**** in the end anyway. Most of the local guys that play like I‎t was a last minute decision were never coming here in the first place.

We haven’t been nearly as close as some people would like to think.

If we're not close, then that's a fail too. This staff, which includes his former HS coach, has had 2 years to recruit this dude.

There is no quote directly saying he wasnt oving miami. You only get 5 ovs and he named six schools he was visiting and said he might have to take a unofficial to one of them. The six schools was lsu, osu, clemson, bama, uf, and fsu.

Did he say, "I'm going to officially visit LSU, OSU, Clemson, Bama, UF and FSU."? Or did you infer that from his comments? Everyone seems to think he's visiting UM with the other AH guys. I guess we'll see.

Can't put this on the coaches. I'm not sure what more we could possibly do to land this kid. Everything else has fallen into place if he's still not convinced to at least take an OV to the U then he isn't a Cane and we'll be fine with the boss we have.

He said if i have to do 5 ovs and 1 unofficial because i have 6 top schools then thats what i will do but no dates are set yet. Like i said maybe he will visit but he didn't mention it.

There literally isn't time for him to do 5 or 6 visits. He'll have maybe 4 visits.

Nobody knows a **** thing and Surtain hasn't said who's getting those visits yet. Nothing announced and nothing official regarding visits.

Most of you are guessing and speculating.

Our coaches seem pretty **** confident in where we are with the AH kids. We aren't recruiting any more DE and only 1 more cb in Bethel. This makes me very confident.

We're all forgetting the most important question about Patrick Surtain Jr.: can he move inside to DT?

**** no! I would call it a major success....signing both would be a grand slam....signing all 4 AH would be epic

Do you know how hard and how well we’ve recruited him? You say there’s nothing more we could have done, but you don’t really know that unless you know exactly what we’ve done and what the other schools have done.
