I love how DJ Johnson is recruiting for us but I'm not placing a lot of faith in his confidence, dude is full of bravado, which is great, but I'm not taking that to the bank in terms of recruit predictions.

With that being said, I really hope he is right.

I'm convinced that some of our fans settle on the women that they date. They may be a 6 and would never go after an 8, so they settle for a 4/5. Ish shows on this board.

Worse case scenario - Ford OV's and sticks with his commitment. There's no penalty in kicking the tires on an elite prospect.

Yeah, I know. But the younger brother came home to UM and that was largely legacy. His parents were both UM.

Of course legacy didn't work with Cade Weldon. There have been plenty of legacies of UM players who went elsewhere--I can think of a bunch (Lonnie Johnson, Scott Nicolas' brother at FSU, etc.) but there have been a bunch who have come. A lot of Blades kids came to UM, some didn't like Bennie's son who I think became a LB for Pitt. And Maurice Crum, who's son started for ND. It works for some, not for others. Some of these legacies we didn't even recruit. Come to think of it, we wanted Andre Carter, but he went to HS in California and I think his father resented the fact he was not given a position as an assistant at UM.

Sorry I dont fallin line with the **** hoping of a high ranking safety we just talked to for the first time a few days ago... If you read your Crooting 101 book this is highly likely a free trip situation...but hey full court shots do go in sometimes

Would be interesting to see the overlap in the "fans" that don't want us pursuing kids they think are zero chancers and that we'll somehow be embarrassed by our wasted efforts and those "fans" that shower local punks with well wishes that actually DO embarrass us with their phony recruitments prior to leaving. I'm gonna guess there is some major overlap. They all can be found in Friday night circle jerks at high school stadiums throughout South Florida.
