Is there any chance this is all just a troll job to build drama -- culminating with our hat ending up on the floor? It just seems odd that a highly recruited kid from (way) out of state would show legit interest for the first time so late in the process.

lets not go crazy. it might be appealing to a west pa kid to play in florida but he commited to pitt over ND nad his bro played at ND

That legacy stuff doesn't really matter anymore TBH.

It does still matter, just not here

Last I checked we have a so-called FSWho legacy committed to us...so I guess it doesn't matter there either
I've seen this mentioned in several threads. Richt was Weldon Sr.'s QB coach at FSU, so it's not the best example to cite as a legacy choosing another school.

Reading the Pitt board, he got along really well with DJ at the Underarmour game and was talking to other recruits saying he wanted to go to Miami. Apparently him and Jeff Thomas were talking alot. Obviously could be nothing, but visiting at this time of the year in Miami where it is a tundra everywhere else will help our chances. We also don't have a FS for next year and he fits that need and could start right away.

Still, I am in the "I'll believe it when I see it mode" for this recruiting cycle. Too many mishaps.

I know a few guys that follow Pitt's program/recruiting and they're slightly concerned about this. Not as concerned as they are about Narduzzi's defense overall but this is at least on their radar. Then again he's their #1 recruit so any smoke from anywhere would probably register. Would be about time we steal a choice kid from up there though as a tax for allowing them to fill their roster with 3 star South Florida kids. I think they have like 6 or 7 in the 2017 class alone.
